Benji – 2 year old male Greyhound

Benji is about 2 years old, and is a complete and utter mad head! Benji really needs a busy active home with someone around all or most of the time and who wants a dog that can literally join in with life. Benji is a delightful blue boy BUT there is a huge but sadly he looks to have colour diluted hormonal alopecia which is rather unfortunate for him as he looks like a giant Mexican hairless poor kid! In some areas he has lots of thick fur, in others sparse fur, in others wirey hair and others no hair! Due to this Benji will need to no doubt wear sun protection in hotter weather to protect his skin and he may be more prone to spots etc, he currently has a bleeding ear that is due to be checked again probably due to the fact that he has thinner skin too!

Benji is a clown, he loves his people and is good with other dogs. I would not like to place him with another male though as he is not backwards at coming forwards and he needs a bitch slightly older than him in years. young enough to play with him but old enough to tell him enough is enough too! This boy likes to talk, he can be a little vocal when he wants something but in his kennel when nothing is happening he does settle quietly. He walks well bar the odd bounce, he tries to keep his kennel clean and also travels like a dream. Benji was taken from the local stray pound so we know some of his history and because he was *bored* in his other wall he kept taking himself out of the garden and heading off on long walks alone. For an active home with dog savy children 6 upwards who want a dog to include in family life and keep him busy this lad will be fab. Benji is NOT cat friendly though.

Benji is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped and will be neutered he will also be rehomed with 1 months free insurance. Benji is currently in Stoke on Trent and any new family interested would need to travel with any resident dogs.

Greyhound Gap
Greyhound Gap is a small independent charity set up to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome greyhounds and lurchers who find themselves in a ‘put to sleep’ situation in UK pounds. Funded almost entirely by donations, we rehome around 150 dogs each year. We can have around 40-50 dogs at any one time in our kennels based in Kidsgrove, Stoke on Trent and a further 30-40 in foster homes. Greyhound Gap operates on a national basis so our dogs can be homed throughout the UK subject to a suitable home visit being carried out. If you are interested in adopting a dog from Greyhound Gap, we would ask that in the first instance you could take a few moments to complete our pre-adoption questionnaire if you have not already done so:
