Benji – 17 month old male Border Collie

Benji is a male Border Collie and is 17 months old, (as of 22/03/2013). Benji is good with children, cats and other dogs. He came into rescue kennels as there was a change in the owner’s circumstances. Benji has done nothing wrong. Benji is a lovely boy, a real sweetie, a very gentle loving dog. He does pulls on the lead when he is excited but soon settled. He has lots of training already in place. He does a nice sit, stay and down. He loves to play ball and retrieves it then leaving it at your feet for another go! Benji is fully housetrained and does not bark when he is left alone. He travels well. To be honest he is an ideal youngster as he has lots of training already in place.

However, as Benji is a young Border Collie he will need an active and busy home with plenty of stimulation and exercise or he will become bored and unhappy. He would be an ideal candidate for obedience or agility work. Please do not enquire after Benji if you only intend walking him for a couple of short walks a day. He needs an active home! Please phone the kennels at your earliest opportunity as Benji will be very popular!

Please note, we operate a policy of NOT re-homing same sex dogs together, e.g. existing dog male then we would not allow another male dog to be re-homed with you.

RSPCA Essex South West
The RSPCA Essex South West Branch is, like all RSPCA branches, an independent charitable trust. As such, it has to be financially self-supporting – in other words it has to raise the funds it needs to support its animal welfare activities. The Branch covers an area ranging from Dagenham & Barking in the South to Epping & Nazeing in the North, Waltham Abbey to the West and Abridge to the East. Although we do rehome our dogs to all other areas. The Branch is run and staffed entirely by volunteers. The main activity of the Branch is in rescuing and finding new homes for companion animals that for a variety of reasons are either homeless or cannot stay with their present owner. We work in partnership with Goddard's Chingford Kennels, who board and care for our rescue dogs. All dogs who are rehomed from us will have their initial course of vaccinations, worm and flea treatments, will be neutered, microchipped and come with 6 weeks free pet insurance in conjunction with the RSPCA and More Than insurance company. In the last eight years (to December 2012) the RSPCA ESSEX SOUTH WEST Branch has re-homed approximately 2200 cats and 1700 dogs. 220 dogs were re-homed in 2013.
