Benson – 7 year old male Labrador Retriever

Meet Benson the Labrador. Benson found himself alone and unclaimed in the dog pound before coming to us, sadly it appears he may have been abandoned because he is blind. Following a trip to the vets we can confirm that Benson is approximately 7 years old, has cataracts that have led to his blindness which the vet believes is a genetic condition, Benson was born to be blind, apart from this he is in great health! He copes really well with his blindness and it only took him a matter of hours to navigate himself around his foster home.

Benson is currently in South Yorkshire and he is being a really good boy. He is house-trained and is fine to be left alone for a few hours per day without becoming destructive. Benson is dog friendly, infact he loves the company of other dogs, we do not however know how he would be with cats. He is a very affectionate boy and adores being around people. When his foster Mum comes home from work, he greets her with a little dance. He is a bouncy boy and he enjoys interacting and playing with people but he doesn’t play with toys. Benson walks relatively well on the lead but can pull a little bit as his nose is always to the ground sniffing his way on his walk.

Bensons foster Mum is completely smitten with him and if it wasn’t for her resident old Labrador girl not taking kindly to having to share her home then he would have already found his forever home but unfortunately it is not to be. So, if you have a hole in your home and heart for our softy Benson, please contact us.
