Bert – 1 year old male Cross-Breed

Bert is a medium to large sized 1 year male old Cross-Breed puppy. Bert was found along with his siblings in the freezing cold, after suffering from a skin condition they had almost no fur on their bodies. Luckily their loving rescuer found them, or they would have surely frozen to death. Nursed back to health and given daily baths these pups are super happy and are all in good health. Bert and his siblings are 1 year old and they are medium in size.

This is Bert a true darling.

He is shy and anxious on meeting new people so needs socialising to improve his confidence levels. Unfortunately he has nipped someone a few months ago as he was stressed by a commotion between me and his brother and thought the person was a threat and he had to deal with the situation. As luck would have it it wasn’t bad but something a new owner would need to be aware of and address.

He is walking better on a lead but you do need to be in charge or he will pull. His recall is improving (due to a bag of meat) unless distracted by a bird. Bert is a bird dog and will chase any bird in the vicinity and then recall is forgotten. He does return when the bird is safely flying at a good distance.

He is a water lover sea, trough or hose he is there and even learn how to pull the trigger on the hose to get the water to squirt himself if nobody would do it for him.

Charity policy is not to rehome any dogs with children under 10 years old. Paws2Rescue is a Surrey based charity that was set up to help the street dogs of Romania. We help a lucky few to find loving homes in the UK and Europe; so far we have re-homed over 500 dogs. We help trusted rescuers in Romania to whom we send desperately needed food, bedding and medical supplies. We are a thriving small charity and with your help we can continue our work. We are fully aware that there are many UK dogs needing help; however the level of cruelty in Romania is so high that we cannot turn away. We have personally witnessed many barbaric acts and are committed to the fight to help these dogs.
