Bert came into rescue after being an unclaimed stray and facing euthanasia, therefore we have no history on Bert to indicate his age but we guesstimate him to be around 18 months – 2 years. We believe Bert to be a Yorkshire terrier cross, but who knows with what another breed! When he first came in from the pound he was such a frightened boy, he would cower and urinate in fear, he was heavily matted so clearly he had be abused in his short life so far.
Several weeks later and we now have a totally different dog who now has bundles of confidence, he is fantastic with other dogs, could live with a dog savvy cat and older children. Bert has absolutely no idea about person space so will happily be all over you while you try and watch the television, but equally he will settle when told and loves nothing more than a cuddle. Bert is crate trained and needs to be encouraged with distraction toys to prevent chewing. Bert does pull slightly on the lead but nothing too much, but would benefit from further training. House training is nearly there, just an occasional accident when he is obviously too focused on fun than asking to go out!
Bert really is a fantastic dog with a fabulous little character, he has put a firm paw print on my heart and I know the fosters too.
