Big Ted is a very big lad who has come into our care from the inspectors having had a very difficult life prior to coming into our care. He was extremely underweight, very nervous, and had a badly damaged tail when he first arrived. Sadly his tail was too seriously damaged to be saved so once strong enough Ted had surgery and had the tail amputated. He has recovered brilliantly from his surgery and is now back up to full strength (which is incredibly strong!). Understandably Ted can sometimes be a little cautious of new people to begin with, but soon gains his confidence.
He is extremely strong on lead, although this is gradually improving, and will need to be the only pet in the home as he is still learning to socialize with other dogs and will need further work on this in his new home. He is brilliant at his basic commands and learns very quickly. He has a problem with his knees, which means he cannot always cope with lots of physical exercise, but mental stimulation such as training will help burn off his energy. Because of all Ted has been through, and his very boisterous nature, he is looking for a very experienced all adult home.
