Blackie – 4 year old male Greyhound

Blackie is a 4 year old male Greyhound. He is a large black boy with a distinguished, silvery muzzle and kind eyes. Blackie is a lovely, friendly boy who enjoys a playful romp around with the other greyhounds in the kennels. He is good with children and we are sure once he learns what a squeaky toy is for it will be his new obsession! Blackie has not yet seen much of the world outside of kennels and has not been in a home before, so new owners will need to give him some settling in time when he first arrives. Blackie is not cat friendly, and care will be needed when introducing him to other dog breeds as he has likely never seen anything other than greyhounds before.

Blackie’s best friend in the world is Miller, another 4 year old black boy. They have spent their entire lives together so ideally we would love to find them a home together as they would help each other adjust to the home life. They balance each other out beautifully – Blackie being outgoing and playful and Miller being more calm and laid back. We will rehome them separately if the right homes come along, however.

*Update*

Blackie has settled well at our kennels and gets on good with the other greyhounds. He can be a bit excitable and keen when out on walks, and will pull strongly if he sees or smells something he decides MUST be investigated! This is being worked on during his daily walks and will improve with time. Due to his excitable nature, care will be needed when he is around other breeds of dog as he has not yet seen many non-greyhound shaped ones.

Blackie loves people and getting fuss and attention.

Blackie is currently in kennels with Miller in Norfolk, UK. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure. After 4 years of racing, both these boys really deserve their retirement sofas now.
