Bobbie is 7 month old Shih Tzu boy who is looking for a new home and currently in foster care in Cardiff. Bobbie loves people, loves a fuss and rolls over for a tummy rub. He can be a bit boisterous so older dog savvy children only. He is sociable with other dogs and plays well when out and about but can be a bit dominant at times and a bit bossy with dog in the home, so we think he would be better as an only dog in a home without cats.
Bobbie is still being housetrained. He knows basic commands like sit. Basic training will be needed and he would benefit from puppy socialisation classes. Bobbie is being taught to take treats gently from hands and to not jump up when excited. He can jump quite high when he wants! He has been left alone for a few hours at a time and is fine. Whilst he is happy being left for a few hours we feel he would benefit from having his humans around most of the time. Bobbie sleeps in his own crate at night in the bedroom and settles down to sleep, he does wake up once during the night to outside to do what he has to then back into his crate to sleep again. He isn’t destructive and doesn’t look to escape or jump the garden fencing.
Bobbie walks well on a lead and only pulls a little at the beginning of a walk. He enjoys going out and bounces as he walks. He was well behaved at the vets and he travels well in the car, he likes to be on your lap.
Bobbie would suit a home with dog savvy children or no children where he’ll be given lots of love, attention and training. He will be a great companion as he loves people and where he won’t be left for too long. We initially thought Bobby could live with another dog but there have been a few incidents in his foster home so we think he would be happier to be an only dog.
Bobbie is neutered, chipped, vaccinated. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet Bobbie in his foster home in Cardiff, South Wales.
If you are interested in adopting Bobby please read about our rehoming process and complete a Pre-Adoption form ( link here ) and one of our adoption coordinators will contact you for a chat.
