Bruce – 7 year old male Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Bruce is a 7 year old male Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Bruce is such a gentle boy who really would love a home of his own. He has been used for breeding so will need to be homed with at least one other resident dog. He is still nervous but is coming along well. He knows nothing of walking on a lead or life in a home as a treasured pet. Bruce is coming along nicely with patience and kindness but will need owners who understand nervous dogs.

Bruce will need new owners who are around for most of the day, at least one other resident dog and older teenagers who will be calm around him until he settles in. He takes no notice of cats. He sleeps well in his crate at night and is clean, he does have a few accidents in the home but his foster is working on this with him and he is improving daily. A few accidents should be expected when he moves to his forever home. His foster will begin lead training with him shortly, but again this may be ongoing in his new home.

Bruce is rather overweight at the moment so care will need to be taken with his diet, in order to help him loose weight he will need to continue on his weight reduction plan until he reaches the correct weight. Gentle exercise will also help once he is happy in lead. He has been neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and will be having a dental prior to re homing. Bruce is currently on foster in Aldershot Hampshire.

*Update January 2016*

Bruce has a grade 3 Heart Murmur and has now been started on medication. He is currently taking Cardalis, one per day and Ferusimide 1 per day. He is gradually coming round and now enjoys sleeping on the sofa and will stay next to you for a fuss. We are waiting for a few days until his heart medication has started to work before trying him on a lead. He is a loving little chap who has been dealt a raw deal, he really does deserve a wonderful caring home where he will be loved. His foster will be happy to answer any questions about him.
