This wonderful 8 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier lad came to us after his owner sadly became ill and was unable to give him the care and exercise he needed. Soon after coming to us, we noticed that he had an odd gait and didn’t sit comfortably. Investigations show that he has compression in his spine and the vet prescribed pain relief which has made him so much happier and more comfortable and he is getting around now just fine. There is no treatment for his condition other than long term pain relief and although it may just always be this way and he may have plenty of happy years in front of him, there is a risk that at some point his back may deteriorate or go completely, we just don’t know.
What we do know, is that this lad deserves to live however long he has left in a loving home. He is a cracking lad, super happy, friendly and playful. He finds kennels stressful because of all the comings and goings, so we are working hard to keep him as comfortable as possible whilst we try and find this special lad a home. He gets worried around other dogs, so is looking for a home as the only dog but he is doing great with his training to help him to be more relaxed around them. He is looking for a home where any children are older teens, who will better understand his needs and be able to participate in his training.
Could you offer Buddy a forever home – he really deserves it!
