Buster is a 7-8 year old male English Bull Terrier Cross. Buster has been loved and doted on by his previous owners but sadly the lady’s husband developed Dementia and the situation became difficult as a result. Through no fault of his own Buster had to be confined to the kitchen and back garden, whilst the lady of the house is heartbroken to have to part with him under the current circumstances this is the best thing for Buster. He is now looking for a loving new home.
Buster is an amazing dog and we are truly besotted with him. For the last year in his home he wasn’t walked due to the circumstances of his owners. We have now re-introduced him to walkies and he is thoroughly enjoying himself whilst out and about! Initially Buster was strong on the lead and could play up a bit if he was stressed or distracted by seeing a person or a dog etc whilst walking. Staff have been working hard, putting advice from our wonderful behaviourist into practice and are now seeing fantastic results with him. He now walks well on the lead and responds well to using treats as distraction when or if needed. He is an intelligent boy, desperate to please and respond to you. He has so much potential and we can’t stress enough how much we love him!
Any potential home would need to meet Buster a few times before adoption. He can be a little stressed around the rescue but away from here in a loving, calm home environment we believe he would soon settle down and make the most affectionate, loyal and devoted companion. Buster will need an adult only home as he can be lively and bouncy. We were told that Buster used to be really good with other dogs before his owners stopped walking him. We are not sure what he is like now. He does bark at some dogs when he sees them on walks, but it seems more of an inquisitive bark rather than aggressive. However, if a dog is being aggressive towards him he will retaliate barking back, but this is fairly standard behaviour from most dogs! He will need to be the only pet and he does not like cats. He should be able to be left for a few hours. We believe someone with experience of dogs, preferable rescue dogs and especially strong breeds would suit Buster best.
We cannot stress enough how much we love this boy and believe he will make such an amazing addition to the family.
