Buster – 10 year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Buster is a 10 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who originally came into our care Jan 09 due to a relationship break-up. Buster’s owner was very upset at parting with him, having bought him from travellers 6 years prior who kept him chained up; saved from a life of misery! He was in one of our foster homes till he was rehomed to a lovely couple in April 09 but sadly has come back to us for Rehoming, his owner said this is the hardest decision he’s had to make.
Buster is not dog aggressive, if anything he’s a little scared of dogs, but there was an incident with another dog which resulted in his owner attending court with our support and Buster being returned to us-the courts allowing Buster to be rehomed again via the RSPCA, they clearly understand that these things happen and are willing to give Buster another chance. He has never been socialised with dogs off lead and he’s always behaved impeccably around other dogs even the aggressive ones. The incident occurred when he managed to get out of the house (door was open and gate not secure), he approached un-supervised children with their small dog, we have no idea what occurred but they admitted to kicking buster. The Dog Rehoming Coordinator will provide more information on the matter and we sincerely hope people will log an interest and hear what we have to say. We do appreciate rehoming Buster could be difficult, but we know there is that special someone out there for him.
Buster is microchipped, castrated and fully vaccinated. He is as good as gold at the vets and the vet cannot believe he’s an oldie, his teeth are in excellent condition, he’s full of life and a very healthy fit dog.
Buster is a big, beautiful boy; he really doesn’t have a bad bone in his body! He is a very friendly, affectionate and intelligent dog who loves people-a very typical trait of the breed.
He has been brought up with children so no concerns there but he is very bouncy and jumps up a lot so we prefer a home without. He needs to be the only pet. He is housetrained and travels very well, he loves chewing toys and bones so will need plenty!
Buster is being looked after his foster Dad who fostered him previously. Everyone who knows Buster can completely see him for what he is, a beautiful loving dog who found himself in a situation that could happen to any dog regardless of breed. He will make someone a very loving, loyal and affectionate pet who will want nothing more than a cuddle and a belly rub which he simply adores!
The ideal home would be in a quiet area with quiet country walks, he will not like urban areas. You will need to be experienced with the breed. The video was made last year when he was with us and nothing has changed. Please hear us out and help Buster, we know him through and through and we must give him a chance.
Any Staffy lover will be impressed with Buster, he’s stunning!
