Button Moon – 5-7 year old female Neapolitan Mastiff

Hi I’m Button Moon or just Button to my friends. I’m a 5-7 year old Neapolitan Mastiff girl, I can tell you how I came about being at Blackberry Farm, although it does bring back sad and lonely memories for me!

I was found by an inspector wondering around a small town in Buckinghamshire, I was so scared and nervous that it took the Inspector ages to catch me and then get me in his van! I was extremely underweight and all my bones stuck out and I had a serious problem with my eye. They told me when I got to the vets I had Cherry eye, I did not understand what this meant, but I knew both my eyes were very sore and I couldn’t even see out of one of them! They managed to remove 4 grass seeds from my tear ducts and I was to await as operation to help with the Cherry Eye.

I then went to Blackberry Farm and was so scared they had to carry me to my kennel. I was a shell of a dog and seemed to have no personality. Well days past and the staff spent lots of time with me and they won my trust! I had the operation to save my eye, and thank goodness it worked. Since the operation I have come on leaps and bounds and just love life!

I love the girls at the centre and am so grateful they showed me how to love again. I am slowly but surely starting to like the male staff too, although I still find them a little scary.

I love dogs and have many doggy friends. I need a really special home and I feel as I am nervous this should be an adult home only, i am extremely nervous of the male humans, and shy away from them, this is something that I may always feel and need my confidence building very slowly, I do not like to be rushed! My adopters need to be very experienced as it wouldn’t be fair on me if you weren’t. I am currently still undergoing medical treatment but I hope to be available soon.

Please get in touch to find out a little more about me…
