Caleb – 2 year old male Akita
This is Caleb, a gorgeous 2 year old male Akita in West Yorkshire currently on death row in a pound. Caleb’s owners were unfortunately involved in a house fire, Caleb, alongside Flynn and Derry (Refs 258 &259) were taken to the pound kennels for safety, however their owners find that they are not in a position to take them back and care for them.
Having been in a kennel for nearly a week without a walk, Caleb was eager to get out and have a good sniff! Not particularly interested in treats, Caleb just seemed content to be out in the fresh air and having a look around. Happy to be stroked and petted all over, Caleb seemed relaxed in our company, we were reluctant to take him back to his kennel! Caleb has lived with two other dogs, and we are informed that he also shared his home with cats, rabbits and ducks! The FOA Trust (UK) will not re-home dogs straight from the pound, and as such we will be trying to secure Caleb’s safety, funds and space allowing. in its work to save Akitas, please get in touch. As a pound dog we know little about Caleb’s history, and as such he will not be placed in a home with children.
