Candy - 4 year old female Greyhound

Beautiful Candy is a 4 year old Greyhound female who recently made her way into our care and is a real sweet but somewhat nervous girlie. She has been fine with all dogs she has met big and small but is terrified of strange men. Her foster home though are working hard to bring her through this. Out on walks she will bark and growl if strange men approach her but is fine if allowed to meet them and given time to come around on her own.

Although she has been fine with females and children we would prefer a child free or older teenage child home for Candy as we feel younger children would be too much for her and set her back. Candy is currently in foster care with a male Greyhound who she gets on really well with. They cuddle up or have the occasional play and in her own environment she is a cheeky bouncy and somewhat waggy girl. Her foster Mum says she gives the best greetings in a morning and when they return from work.

Candy is clean and is house-trained BUT has had the occasional accident through the day. This though is because her foster carer works full time with her Father coming in and letting the dogs out to toilet, as she is apprehensive of him she wont go out. The accidents haven’t been daily just a couple of times early on and Jacqui her carer believes that in the right home she would be totally clean.

Candy is a special small sweet Greyhound girl who just desperately needs a kind, quiet home to allow her to build her confidence gradually and learn that not all men are bad! Candy is not cat or small furry safe. Candy has been deflead, dewormed, vaccinated, KC vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed.
