Candy

Candy is a 16 months old Border Collie. She arrived at Battersea as her owner could no longer cope with an active Collie and a new baby.

Like most Collie types Candy is not coping in the kennel environment and finds it all too stressful, she will need patient new owners who will allow her time and space to settle.Candy loves people and is very responsive, she will make a loyal and loving addtion but does require guidence.

Ideally Candy needs owners who have owned Collies before to understand her needs and ways, she is not suitable as a first time dog. Candy has unfortunately not been socialised with other dogs so lacks confidence in this area, she will need owners prepared to continue the social work needed before this develops in to a problem. Not compatible to live with another dog or cats.

Ideally Candy needs an all adult household where all training will be consistent, older teenagers would be considered if they are confident and will help with all aspects of training and doggy care. Candy is looking for a quiet home in a semi-rural or rural location where she will have plenty of space to burn her energy off.

In her previous home Candy was housetrained and travelled well in a car. If you love Collies then Candy could be the dog for you, she does require work but has so much to offer and lots of potential.
