Pepsi is a 14 year old Corgi cross Terrier who is in an Oldies Club foster home in Romford, Essex, waiting for someone to offer her a permanent home.

Introducing Pepsi: Pepsi is a very happy dog who loves company and is eager to please. She is good with dogs, cats and children.

Settled quite quickly: Pepsi had settled at her foster home after about a week and it now seems like she has always been a part of the family.

Can be left but enjoys company: Pepsi is happy to be left for a few hours but does like to have company most of the time. She wouldn’t be happy living with full-time workers.

Likes dogs: Pepsi’s foster carers have two other dogs and Pepsi has become good friends with them.

Fine with cats: There is a cat in Pepsi’s foster home and she avoids it most of the time.

Could live with children over 6: Pepsi loves being around children and would be a great addition to any family, but she would be best with children aged over 6 years.

Loves walks: Pepsi loves her walks and is very good on the lead. She is currently having about 20-30 minutes every morning and evening, but if offered Pepsi would love to go out walking during the day. She enjoys a game of fetch although sometimes she wants you to do the fetching!

Good in the car: Pepsi travels well in the car.

Health notes: Pepsi has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea-treated and wormed. She has had a problem with her gums and an infection can flare up and she will need antibiotics to clear it. She may need to have a dental cleaning in the future but at the moment our vet advised against it as the gum infection may only flare up every six months or so. Therefore, whilst it can be treated with antibiotics they think it is best to leave it alone unless it becomes more frequent.

Foster carer’s summary of Pepsi: Pepsi is a lovely, cuddly dog who loves life and will make a fantastic companion for anyone looking for a fun loving, bouncy, lovable little girl. She makes you smile every time you open the front door and see her excited at having you home with her. She loves to get up fairly early every morning and even if you feel like turning over for an extra forty winks, it will not happen as once you see her enthusiasm you just want to get up and join her. Once you have met her you will see how adorable she is and will be pleased to make her a part of your life.

He is good with other dogs and kids. He needs a quiet retirement home were he can live out his days in peace, quiet and comfort. Bruno has a large growth on his elbow which will be seen by the vets, although he seems to have had it for quite a while. Bruno is neutered and chipped.

Sully is a gorgeous 6 year old Boxer boy who is looking for a new home due to a change in curcumstances meaning he is now left up to 13 hours a day, his owner is doing the best thing by finding a new home that can give him the time he needs. He is a little apprehensive with other dogs, but generaly just wants to play with them, although he doesnt like cats. He loves people full stop, always eager to greet people when they enter the house. Loves to sit on your feet as you pet him.

Loves to go for walks and be let off lead to run free but always comes on command. Very inquisitive when out, looking at everything that is going on around him. Loves his little treats and toys and is happy to sleep on his bed alone in another room. Has been left for hours with no problem.

Sully has seasonal flank alopecia (hair loss on his sides) this causes him no problems and needs no medical treatment. Sully is neutered and vaccinated.

Roo is an 9 year old Boxer boy who was rehomed through Boxer Rescue Liverpool in Oct 2010, sadly due to longer working hours and a baby on the way Roo is now looking for a new home again. Roo is a very loving and affectionate dog. He is very much a family dog. He loves to go for long walks/runs. He is very young at heart and still has lots of energy for 9 years old.

He is good in the house and doesnt chew when left but may have the odd toilet accident if left too long. He has limited experience with other dogs outside of the house as when he was a pup nobody wanted to play with him because he was too boisterous for them, but has lived with other dogs in the home with no problems. He is good with kids too, but no cats.

Bob is a stunning 8 year old Boxer boy who is looking for a new home due to his owners now working very long hours meaning he isnt getting the attention he deserves, he is brilliant with kids of all ages, he is currently living with a new born baby, toddlers and teenagers, although he is lively around them he is very friendly towards them and knows the word ‘No’ means to calm down!

He is playfull and lively with other dogs he meets on walks, although hasnt lived with another, he should be ok with a female dog. Bob is good with routine, he has been taught to keep off furniture with the word ‘down’, he loves rides in the car and going to the beach and will even drink from a water bottle, he doesnt like the garden hose but enjoys a bath!

Bob will chase cats and has not lived with them. He is not destructive around the house when left (but has been known to eat his bed when bored) and he is crate trained. Bob is fully vaccinated and chipped.

Hello, my name is Ollie. I’m a seven year old male, Tibetan Terrier. I arrived at The Mayhew because my owner was moving to a property which doesn’t allow pets. I am a calm and intelligent boy. I’m aloof with strangers but very friendly with people I know. I’m toilet-trained, well-behaved, I know the usual commands which I respond well to, I walk nicely on my lead without pulling and I travel well in the car. I’m not keen on being alone and I will cry when left on my own in the house. I enjoy going to the park, I don’t tend to wander very far, preferring to stay close by. I get along ok with other dogs but I can sometimes be a little grumpy around them. I can also be grumpy if you disturb me when I’m eating or try to take something from me. I’m and affectionate boy and I love being stroked. I’m not really into toys, I’d much rather be receiveing cuddles! My foster carer says I’m an easy and undemanding dog who settled down quickly.

I am now looking for a forever home with an experienced owner who has researched my breed type. I’m looking for an all adult home without visiting young children. I could live with another larger sized dog providing we’re the right match but no cats please. I will need a home where there is somebody around for most of the day and my new owners will be expected to provide me with a minimum of one hour of off lead exercise daily. If you’re interested in offering me a home you will need to be fully prepared for the hard work and long-term commitment involved in caring for a dog, you will be taking on an eight year commitment, which must not be taken lightly.

I hope to see you soon

This lovely older lady is Babe, a Whippet cross of 11 years of age. Babe came into our care last year after the death of her owner, she came as part of a pair with her companion Max but sadly after only days in their foster home, Max passed away in his sleep.

Babe is currently in a foster home in Derbyshire where she is living alongside 6 other dogs with no issues at all.

Babe has had a clean bill of health from the vets and is a happy and active 11 year old, she loves to walk and is great on the lead. She is fully vaccinated, spayed and microchipped.

This beautiful girl is very affectionate and loves nothing more than to sit with you to share a cuddle, she just wants to be everyones best friend.

Babe however does have a couple of negatives that we have to be honest about. She is a barker and sometimes the smallest thing does set her off so she would be better suited to a rural property or a detached home. She also does have some poop accidents in the night, this is thought to be nothing more than her age but it is something that her new family would need to be aware of.

Babe would be suited to either a quiet or active home as she adapts very well and has plenty of life in her and we would consider a home with older children.

Could you offer her a forever home?
