Freya – 10 year old female English Springer Spaniel

Freya is a 10 year old female English Springer Spaniel. She is a lovely older girl who is good with people and other dogs. She is a chilled out girl who is not into toys and is well behaved. She even lays on her back for you to bath and groom her! Freya is such a little sweetie with a nice temperament who is very affectionate and cuddly. She could live with children aged 10 years plus.

Can you offer Freya her retirement home?

Woodie – 11 year old male Collie

Woodie came to his present family as a little pup and has had a happy life with them until the past couple of years. Woody is a friendly chap still very full of energy and still able to do some great tricks for his master on command. Sadly the family have had a number of things happen which has made life in Woodie’s household quite difficult for him as well as the family.

An extension to the house was planned and started but came to a grinding halt when in the same year his master was knocked over by a motor bike and a large white van ran up over the kerb and subsequently over the legs of his teenage daughter who was sitting on the grass. What a year! The family continued to live in cramped conditions because of the incomplete building work, when unexpectedly their other daughter came back home to live bringing with her a baby and another dog!!

All too much for Woodie and at one time of feeling under pressure he growled at the baby. The family have since that time tried to be watchful in case anything worse might happen but surely and slowly Woodie became to be a ‘nuisance’, and the family decided that he needed to go. He still does not like to feel cornered and will still growl when this happens but this is not very often.

When advice was sought from the vet he proposed that they have Woodie put down! This is where I stepped in as grandmother to the family because I feel that with a new start, a new owner and a bit of space to stretch out on a sunny day he will do well and has much to offer a family with grown up children or a single owner.

Woody is ok on a lead but can pull a bit. He will come back when called. He has his injections to date. He is nervous about intruders and barks at any noise outside, he also does not like the noise of wind. He has been neutered. He is 11 years old in July. He is not too bothered about other dogs. He can do some ‘tricks’ – rolls over on command and says please for a biscuit etc. – intelligent, willing to please and still has a lot of fun left in him.

JJ – 6 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier

JJ is a 6 year old spayed female Staffordshire Bull Terrier who is looking for a new home due to a change in her previous owners circumstances. JJ is friendly girl who has lived as part of family for most of her life and is very comfortable around people and children. She is playful, eager to please, fully house trained and can be left on her own for up to four hours. We would like to rehome JJ to someone with previous Staffie experience. She is good with other dogs and can live with a calm male. We would like her to live as a part of a family and can be rehomed with children aged 8 years plus.

Sheba – 8 year old female Border Collie Cross

Sheba is an 8 years old spayed female Border Collie cross. She was found tied up in front of a church with a note asking to look after her as her owner had to go to hospital and could no longer take care of her. Sheba is a very sweet lady with a nice calm nature. She is a little confused as to why she has been left alone and would love to find a loving home where she can feel safe again. She is good with other dogs. Sheba would suit someone who is looking for a loving loyal companion and she could live with children aged 10 years plus and no cats.

Betsy – 7 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Betsy this poor lady came in to us from the pound after being abandoned in Milton Keynes. She is around 7 years young and seems to have slight neurological problems, she is a sweet heart who needs a very special quiet home where she can be pampered.
