Lulu - 2 1/2 year old female Labrador Retriever
Lovely Lulu is a 2 1/2 year old female black Labrador, she is smaller than the average sized Labrador. Lulu is a lively girl with a very happy nature. She is not ever so used to a lead, but is getting much better with practice.

Further basic training required. Lulu is fine with other doggy friends and will be a great family dog for someone willing to give her a chance. Lulu is neutered and micro-chipped.

Zoe - 4 year old female Boxer
Zoe is a beautiful white Boxer girl, approximately 4 years old. Her needs have been neglected in her previous home, and as you can see from the pictures, Zoe has come into the care of Kirkby Pet Welfare with infected runny eyes, which are now being treated.

Zoe is a very special girl because she is deaf, and her new owner will need to use signals rather than words for her training.

She is a placid dog, albeit slightly nervous, but this is not suprising as she has just come into the rescue from an unhappy home and she must be quite traumatised, bless her.

Max is a 4 year old Jack Russell Terrier male with va-va-voom! He came into rescue in Ireland and has obviously lived outside and spent the day occupying himself with toys and a tennis ball. He is however doing very well now living inside and housetraining is, to all intents and purposes, there. He has gone from being a little remote to shadowing his fosterers around the house.

He is a little food possessive…ever hungry…but this will, in time, lose it’s significance. He is great on and off the lead; friendly with other dogs and occasionally plays. He could be an only dog or in with another. Max isn’t to happy visiting vets and needs to live an adult family as he has nipped when pulled by his collar once and when woken up in his bed.

Max loves nothing more than to cuddle up while you relax. He is fine in the car and up for whatever is happening within the household. He doesn’t chew and has Jack appeal! He is neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. In good health. Fostered in Chessington. If you are looking for a Jack Russell Terrier, Max could be the right dog for you.

He has the shepherd coat, trainability and people personality and the Collie intelligence; fun/play/chase outside.

He is so easy to manage in the home but needs training time put into his lead work and recall. He is just building his confidence as was quite nervous when he arrived but hehad been through the ordeal of a pound, a long journey then kennels.
He is a lovely lovely dog, currently being fostered with two other dogs and gets on great with them! He is newly neutered, dew claws removed, micro-chipped and vaccinated.

Betty Boo (ref 114d) is a friendly, intelligent and sensible brindle-coated female Staffordshire Bull Terrier believed to be about 7 years old. She is well behaved and would be suitable for a household where any children were aged 5+ and very kind to animals. Betty Boo likes people very much and loves to play, both with people and with her toys.

She is a very clever girl who already knows at least 5 commands, possibly more. She is a good dog and very obedient. Like most dogs, she’s especially happy when her favourite people are making a fuss of her, grooming her or making her feel an important part of the family in other ways.
She appears to get along with other dogs and is basically a loving and easygoing girl. Like most dogs, though, she would be certain to chase after cats if given the opportunity. Betty Boo was dumped by her last owner and left to wander the streets on her own until a kind member of the public brought her to Derby RSPCA Centre.
She really is a lovely and good-natured dog who deserves a second chance with caring new owners who will see that she gets plenty of fresh air, fun and exercise as well as lots of love, affection and attention. She will make a wonderful friend and companion.

Lassie is an 18 month old female Border Collie who was found stray as a 6 month pup in a terrible state. She moved in with her finder an elderly lady who was soft as butter. Lassie being an intelligent dog soon got the upper hand. She also carried some fears with her and can get spooked by loud sudden noises or like yesterday a flash of a camera. She needs confident owners to allow her to relax.

She is fostered with many dogs currently and mixes well outside and in but can try it on, to lay claim to certain beds or toys. She spends most of her day playing and adores her walks on an extender. Lassie is a beautiful dog who gets admires from all quarters. She positively flirts with human and dogs and goes through a carton of mascara a week!
She has never had formal training and needs occupation/company though can be left without destruction. She is totally house-trained. If you are looking for a Collie and understand their needs, then Lassie is ideal.

We are looking for older children who are responsible as she need clear messages and to understand what her boundaries are. She hasn’t had experienced dog handlers other than ourselves in foster so would benefit from a family who ‘get Collies’ Lassie got very distressed in kennels so would need to be a family who wouldn’t use kennelling unless in an emergency. She is full vaccinated, spayed and micro-chipped.
