Penny - 12 year old female Terrier Cross
Old Penny is a tan and black Terrier cross, to be honest she looks like a fox with pointed ears. She is very kind and endearing, loves living with other dogs and regular walks but not too far. She is about 12 years old and just wants a quiet life by a warm fire. She is absolutley no trouble, house trained, healthy, happy girl just wants a warm bed to call her own. No young kids please, older teenagers. You don’t need a lot of room for Penny but have you got room in your heart for her?

Dexy - 18 month old male Border Collie
Dexy is a border collie boy about 18 months old. He is a very easy dog to live with, clean, extremely affectionate and well trained. Needs loads of exercise and mental stimulation to keep his highly intelligent brain active and happy. Good recall off lead but pulls on lead, travels well. treated for fleas and worms, microchipped,

Tilly - 1 year old female Yorkshire Terrier Cross
Tilly, AKA BESSIE, she is a great little girl about 1 year old, walks great on lead and off, good with cats and all dogs, and great with all humans.

Willa - 6 year old female Greyhound
Willa is a 6 year old Greyhound female who came into our care recently with three other dogs sadly her story is a sad one. Willa started her life as a racing greyhound and on retirement found a pet home. Sadly they could no longer keep her and had the wool pulled over their eyes and placed her in a new home with someone who was a hoarder and banned from keeping animals. For the next however long Willa was kept permanantly in a shed with three young petrified greyhound puppies who she has nurtered and cared for keeping them safe. This is where her name derives from and means *Protectress*
Whilst the three 18mnth olds remain in our kennels as they are so traumatised still we felt that Willa needed to be back out and into a normal home environment as soon as possible. Anna stepped in and offered her sofa space with the 7 other residents. When she first landed she was a petrified insecure girl and broke her heart when Anna left the house pining and howling for her to return. However, Willa soon relaxed and found the sofa and that is pretty much where she has stayed since.
Willas big love in life is toys. This girl is so playful and spends hours pouncing around, chucking and jumping on the soft plush furries in the foster home. She can be found lying nursing them in her mouth.
Out on walks she is coming on in leaps and bounds. She was terrified at first and trying to back away but is being walked on a ruffwear harness for extra security and really beginning to relax. She has been good with all dogs she has met of all breeds but can be a bit lungy at first when she wants to get in and say hello.
Willa has also met children and suprised us by being non phased by them. They would need to be older though and well behaved as we dont feel she would cope with littles running around.
Willa cannot be homed as an only dog she would go to pieces. Her ideal environment would be with either a male greyhound companion or with a pack of other hounds to slip into place with. A hound who would cuddle would be lovely as she loves to snuggle up closely to another. This girl is a real heart melter. Everyone who meets here falls in love with her she is so gentle, loving and so eager to please.
As Willa still has a few hang ups about being left ideally a family with someone around for most of the time or part time workers would be the easiest for her to adapt too. Willa is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped and spayed.

Penny - 2 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross
Penny is a pretty 2 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross. She is a fairly small dog and not a muscular as your typical Staffy. She has a great personality, is very friendly with everyone and just wants to please. She gets on well with other dogs and loves to run around and play. She loves people and wants to get on your lap for a cuddle.
She can be left for short periods but will chew if left too long, to help with this we have crate trained her. She had learnt some basic commands and is clicker trained. She loves to please and will do anything fro a treat. She is looking for a fun active home.

Sooty is a handsome Labrador cross Collie, mostly Labrador. He is a 2 year old male. He is a big, bouncy boy with loads of energy and loads of love to give. He loves to play and would spend all day chasing a ball. He gets on well with dogs but can play a little rough at times. Sooty has had a poor start in life having been passed from home to home.
As a result he has had little training and his previous owner didn’t even bother to walk him. He has learnt some basic commands here but will need some further obedience training. He is a cracking dog and really deserves a good home, preferably with no young children as he will knock them over.

Lady is a 2 year old female Boxer cross Beagle. She is such a sweet dog who lives life to the max. She is always so happy and her tail is constantly wagging. She gets on well with dogs and has lived with a cat. She is looking for a fun, family home where she can become a member of the family herself.
Belle - 2 year old female Parsons Russell Terrier
Belle is a 2 year old, female Parsons Jack Russell Terrier type. She is a sweet little dog with a personality to match. She loves people and will curl on the sofa with you for the evening. She is house trained, good with other dogs but not cats. She does enjoy her walks and likes to get in the undergrowth and explore, she always comes back though. She is quiet in the house, is happy to be left for short periods and just likes to follow her owner in what ever they are doing.
She is looking for an adult home only as she is scared of children and will run and hide. She is not aggressive and has never bitten, even when cornered. She also has very straight back legs making her gate a little awkward but the vet has given her clean bill of health and cannot find a problem with them.

Rocky is a 4-5 year old male German Shepherd. He is small for a Shepherd and is very quiet and easy going. He has lived with a female dog and cats. He really loves his walks but likes nothing better than lying in front of the fire on a cold evening. His previous owner was very unwell and sadly had to give Rocky up. He has come from a loving home and has ended up here through no fault of his own.
