Alfie – 1 year old male Lurcher

Alfie 1 year old Lurcher boy. Handsome Alfie is a typical youngster, full of beans. Alfie is a charming boy who is eager to see and do everything, he is very pleased to meet new people and cant wait to give big Lurcher kisses !

Alfie is looking for a home with no small children as he can be bouncy and will easily knock them over. He is fine to be handled and he walks well after initial excitement wears off ! Such a young lad will be easy to train and he will be a rewarding companion.

UPDATE: Alfie is a pleasure and such a handsome boy, typical of a Greyhound he has a 5 minute burst of energy and then is calm, he loves treats and would do well at reward based training. Alfie was spoilt in his previous home, he is now learning to gain a treat he needs to follow a command, which he excels at. Alfie gets on well with other dogs and loves playing.

Victoria – 2 year old female German Shepherd Cross

Victoria was hit by a car more than a year ago. She had a pelvic fracture that didn’t needed surgery and she recovered completely. The only sign left from her accident is that she moves her back legs more stiff than a normal dog would, but she doesn’t has any pain and she can run and walk normally.

She’s an amazing dog, very friendly, she likes children, cats and other dogs. She walks nicely on a leash.

She could get along with any dog, even with Territorial ones and she’s very easy to handle, even by children.

Kimmy – 4 year old female Rottweiler

Kimmy is a 4 year old Rottweiler girl who is looking for a loving new home. Her owner moved to rented accommodation that wouldn’t accept dogs-we had an hour’s notifice that Kimmy had nowhere to go. We have had her wormed/flead, micro-chipped, spayed and vaccinated. She was a little out of shape due to lack of exercise and her nails were overgrown, she is also being treated for Eczema with anti-biotics which should clear it.

Kimmy is a sweet natured dog. She is so gentle when she takes treats from you and we’ve established she loves to play fetch and has a lovely playful side to her. She is fine with other dogs and did live with a dog for a few months; she will chase cats! She lived with a boy who is now 10 years old and has been around children, ideally we are looking for a home with children 10+.

Kimmy is apparently wary of some men but not in a reactive way; so far she’s been happy and confident around the men at the kennels. She does not like the hoover but has a thing for the sofa so if you’re not around she’ll help herself! She is toilet trained, knows a few commands and loves her walks although she is strong particularly at the start of her walks.

Kimmy is so deserving of finding a new home, she can’t wait to go for long walks and to snooze on the sofa behind your back, she’s not asking for much!

Chelsea – 2-4 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Chelsea Proper old fashioned Staffordshire bull terrier female of 2 to 4 years approx. Chunky Chelsea is an adorable little lady, who found herslef homeless and in the pound and has come into our care. This super little girl just adores people, she loves everyone and if you bend down she is on your lap in a jiffy if she can ! Chelsea is quite calm in nature and seems to take everything in her stride. She is an engaging walking companion and although could use some further training, she is not overly strong. She is a real sweetie and will make a super family all rounder. She gets on well with her kennel mate but would prefer to be the only dog in her new home as she wants all the attention to helself, she is fine with other dogs outside of her home. For Chelsea her one requirement in life is cuddles, she loves to bury her head into your lap and gives typical Staffordshire Bull terrier snuffles, she is only a small girl, she loves a treat and knows basic commands.

UPDATE: Little Chelsea is a great example of a loving mothering staffy. She lives happily in her kennel with another staffy and yesterday we tested her with a lively doggy & she just sat down and looked at us as if to say ‘ come on then when can I start to play’. She walks nicely on her lead and just seems to be smiling all the time. A great character…who adores cuddles…….

Chelsea popped along with us today to help us on the Ahelpline stall which gave us time to get to know her more. What an absolutely delightful doggy,in typical staffy style she just loves to go and meet everybody for attention & cuddles ( which she got lots of). One of the volunteers at Brook farm took her off for a little walk to meet the rabbits, chickens ,other dogs and Chelsea just didn’t seemed phased by anything. Off she trotted with her tail wagging enjoying to be out & about. She travelled well in the car settling nicely after a long day in the rain.

What more can I say except Chelsea is another excellent example of this breed who would make such a great family companion….she loves children and knows not to jump up. A very lovable dog…..

Cody – 3 year old male Bichon Frise

Meet Cody! A handsome 3 year old Bichon Frise looking for a loving home where he can get the attention and exercise that he needs. Cody came into us from a home situation where the owners felt they could no longer care for him. He is a very sweet boy who loves to snuggle up with you on the sofa and have a good cuddle! He is a bit “naked” at the moment but his fur is growing back well and will re quire regular grooming.

Cody was very good at the groomers although did have a little grumble at the end when his nails were clipped. He is a very clever boy who responds well to positively reinforced training. He already knows a clever trick as you can see here:

Cody would love to go to training classes and/or an activity to help to continue to develop his basic training and improve his concentration. He has recently started agility classes and is doing brilliantly and enjoying them immensely so this, or something similar, would be wonderful to continue in his forever home. Here’s a video of the lovely boy in action:

Cody is still learning his manners around other dogs but with continued training in his forever home he would be happy to live with other dogs. He wouldn’t like to live with children.

The lovely kennel dog walkers say that he is easy to walk and a pleasure to be with. He is very sweet and loves to play – he’ll make a wonderful companion.

Cody is currently in kennels in South Wales whilst waiting for a foster or, even better, a forever home. Can you offer him either? Cody has been neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped.

If you think you could offer our lovely Cody a foster home then please follow this link: www.friendsoftheanimalsrct.org.uk/fostering.html

If you’re interested in adopting Cody, please read our adoption guidelines and procedure;

Pal – 3 year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross

Homing requirements: Pal needs stability, security and sanctity. He is well mannered but would benefit from further training. Secure garden and a family with time for him. Could live with another dog or cat.

His Story: Pal was found stray and unclaimed in East London. Now neutered, vax’d and in boarding kennels near Farnham.

Pal Freedom after weeks of imprisonment!

Advert: Pal is what we call a ‘Rescuer’s dog’, a dog who the rescuers rave about in terms of vibe, temperament and demeanour. Pal really is a pal to everyone he meets. He can get excited but easily calms. Greets other dogs, wagging his tail, he is really playful too and you know he just wants to be off the lead, running around. Told off by another dog Pal shrinks back to say “Sorry! Won’t happen again”! Meets horses, sheep and goats well too. He is a quick learner and knows sit and paw. He is also very gentle with taking treats. He could be a great agility dog, as he loves to run and would be at his best in a home which challenged him mentally too.

Pal is the modern day ‘Mongrel’ a blend of all the best! He is a medium sized dog with fawn and gold brindle coat which is like cotton velvet to touch. Pal could live with another dog if the fit was right, but equally he would love to have all the attention to himself as an only dog and have visiting dogs. He seeks assurance and approval from his handlers which is so endearing.

Pal meets Buzz (we are talking about Buzz!)

Please note this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a ‘forever’ home is found.

Please visit Pal’s thread on our forum: http://rescueremedies.myfastforum.org/sutra88882.php#88882 to find out if he is still available and for fuller details.
