Bedlington Terrier Cross

Madison - 2 1/2 year old female Lurcher

Madison is a 2 1/2 year old Lurcher female (Whippet cross Bedlington Terrier).  She is small, 16 inches to the shoulder. She is an extremely affectionate and loving dog who would like to be cuddled all day, but she is timid with strangers and lacks confidence. She likes children but would probably be frightened by toddlers, she would be fine with older children.

She was given away because she was not getting along with the other Sprocker bitch in their house, but since living with us has got along fine with our large dogs, but is slightly nervous of them. When she came she didn’t appear to be house-trained, but has been clean for the last few days.

She would love a quiet home with lots of company and attention and would give lots of love in return. She really is a very sweet little dog that would bring her new home lots of pleasure and deserves a second chance.

We also have in our care the pup to this mum who is 11 weeks old and male the father was a Jack Russell so this little lad is not going to be very big but I am sure what he lacks in height he will make up in personality. Picture to follow!

Tasha - 3 year old female Greyhound, Collie cross Bedlington Terrier

Meet the beautiful Tasha who has recently landed into the care of Greyhound Gap from a home situation. Tasha is a 3 year old medium sized Greyhound/Collie/Bedlington Terrier cross girl and is broken coated blue merle in colour. Tasha’s family were sad to part with her but she has been living with 4 other female dogs and sadly as Tasha can be a little nervy it was resulting in fights.

Tasha is very devoted to her owner and you can see the collie sneak in with her wanting to be with you. The owners did try leaving Tasha alone without the other dogs and with a few seconds of wining she settled down onto the sofa and slept.

Ideally Tasha would like an active home as an only dog with an owner around all or most of the time especially in the beginning to settle her in. She is a very clever girl eager to learn and very treat motivated so would easily train to become an agility dog or similar and would excel at obedience.

Tasha has been use to running off leash and her recall is also better as a singular dog, she seemed to get her confidence with the pack she was already with and we think this has also helped to lead to the fallings out between her and another bitch.

If Tasha were to be rehomed with another dog it would need to be an older steady male. During her settling period Tasha needs to be allowed to do her own thing, over reassurance would be too much for this girl and could lead to separation problems.

Tasha is great with children and is fine with other dogs out and about. Whoever gives this beautiful girl a home will have a loving, loyal companion for life. Tasha is currently still in kennels but as we would prefer a home for her as an only dog and so much is known about her history we are starting to look for a home.
