Cassie is such a lovely girl and is so pleased to see everyone, bless her. She adores her time spent with the dog-walkers, and with the kennel staff in our enclosure, she just so wants to be with people and be loved. She’s a wriggly-wiggly girl who goes all silly when you talk to her and is just such a soft girl and very loving. She has blossomed since she arrived with us and will make a great companion for someone or a family. She is very affectionate and will need human company for at least half the day please.

Cassie really enjoys her walks and will need 2 good countryside or beach walks every day please, and will need a secure enclosed garden to play in with her new family (when the weather improves!). Cassie has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and can be rehomed outside the county subject to a successful homecheck.

Cassie seems fine with other dogs and can live with older children. She can also be cat tested if need be.

Cassie is very upset to find herself in kennels and our greatest wish for Cassie is to find her a loving, forever home as soon as possible. Poor Cassie didn’t ask to be cruelly abandoned and so deserves some happiness now. She has huge amounts of love to give, but no special person or family to share it with, it’s heartbreaking for her.

Can you make our wish for Cassie come true please?

Bullsai has a head the size of an anvil! He is an incredibly friendly lad who sadly is so pleased to see EVERYONE that he keeps splitting his tail open by wagging it so hard in his kennel.

If respite care cannot be found soon we may have to consider amputation which is really a last resort.

Bullsai has lived with small children in a family home and is housetrained, leash trained (fantastic obedience and focus) muzzle trained (no he’s not aggressive, all IM dogs are trained to positively accept muzzles for trips to the vets making it less stressful all round) and spends an awful lot of time sleeping…

Bullsai could live with a female dog of size, but can find smaller dogs a bit much to cope with unless they are pretty chilled. We’ve had no reactions to the horses, donkeys or chickens, and he has met my son and not batted an eyelid.

Bullsai would make a superb family pet for those who are experienced Rottie/bullie people.

Piggy is a white female Dorset bulldog cross Bull mastiff, 3 years old. Human and dog tested, affectionate with humans, non-reactive to other dogs.

This dog is all lacking in formal training, but have the desire to learn. She is house-trained and easily motivated to do the right thing. Regardless of that she is not cute cuddly cartoon dog, she is athletic (although somewhat overweight at present) driven dog who needs people who understand bull breeds and who are committed to continuing her training and socialization.

She is unaware of the outside world and will need careful but positive guidance. Because she is very bouncy and very large, we are currently unable to rehome her with smaller children, but this may change as she will land in specialist foster homes up and down the UK next week (snow permitting). Most of all she needs owners who respect her as dog, not squishy toys, and who will be aware of the health issues that can arise within the bulldog breed as a whole.

Applications are now open for forever homes (homechecks will be carried out) but be aware that we will not rehome over Christmas.

*Update*

Piggy is a very human bonded dog with lots of love to give. Like all of the bulldogs she is a busy girl, and needs an active home.

She has full training back up, but needs to go to a family who understand an intolerant temperament and are willing to work hard to correct it, for me, being an only dog is not a remedy, she has to exist in the World, and that means meeting other dogs eventually. She can be remedied, the personality is there but it will take hard work and dedication by her new home.

Someone who understands Staffie temperament would be perfect.

To apply for Piggy as a foster or forever home please contact monkeymagique@hotmail.com

*Update January 2011*

Piggy is coming on leaps and bounds working with our head trainer at kennels, she is very food and praise motivated and is becoming much more communicative with other dogs as opposed to her old reaction which was to throw herself on the floor and refuse to move!

She is a very attractive girl, with lovely spots as well as the striking white coat and sweet face, about the size of a small boxer she is slightly larger than her siblings, and is certainly the brains of the outfit! She has been working on her heel, wait and sit, and is getting better each day.

Misty is a young female Bully cross who is neutered. She adores children, likes other dogs of size, and is very human bonded. She is in training at the moment for her pulling, which is pure excitement and improves every day. She is clean in the house, and loves nothing more than a cuddle.

Misty is energetic, and hasn’t finished growing yet. She needs a very active family to help bring her on, and someone who enjoys agility would find a perfect partner in this very smart girl – she’s so desperate to please, but lacks the knowledge at the moment to know what the right thing to do is. She loves to run, and equally loves to come back for a fuss!

I don’t want Misty to spend Christmas in kennels – she spends three days a week with a family, where she is blossoming – but she needs a home who love her silly panda eyes, and her lovely, lively nature.

*Update December*

MISTY is doing really well in her training. She is like a puppy: full of energy and wants to play al the time, but she also wants to please. Misty will suit a very active family without small children – she is big and very strong bouncy dog and her constantly wagging tail could seriously hurt little ones. Nowadays she accepts strangers/visitors much quicker, providing they are correctly ‘introduced’.

With right handling and calm owner with whom she will feel safe Misty will blossom into a most magnificent dog – she already has the looks.

*Update January 2011*

Where do I start with Misty? She is not so much a Crossbreed as a Chimera…. body of a lioness, tail of a velociraptor, face of a panda, prey drive of a greyhound and brain of a duck.

She is a total joy to have in the house- will happily sleep in her bed when nothing is going on, will join in with any hugs going spare and guard you when you take a bath. I have never met a more thoroughly housetrained dog- we have only had one accident when she was so thrilled to greet my husband back from work that she weed a bit and immediately took to her bed in shame. She will dance around by the door when she needs the loo, and if you dont take the hint will point at her lead.

When she meets someone new she sets the Internal Misty Timer and as long as the newcomer doesnt do anything dodgy in 15 minutes they’re on the list, during this time its wise to ignore her as she grumbles and growls disapprovingly to herself, we’ve had her in the room during a raucous family party and she gave up and slept through the entire thing. Gets on well with children but would knock a small one flying, ignores my cats and plays well with my sister in laws Staffie and is happy to let her dictate the rules of the game and make growly Gremlin noises.

She snores like a tractor on a cold morning. Her prey drive is high. I have no doubt if she were to meet one of my goats in an unsupervised moment it would be Misty 1 Goat Nil and Void. We love this dog- she has a sweet nature and a big heart, she just wants to be around you and genuinely wants to please, tries her best and doesnt make trouble, if it werent for her prey drive she wouldnt be going anywhere.

Rex is a 14 month old male Bullmastiff cross Boxer, he has the Boxer personality with the size of a Bullmastiff, he was quite skinny when he came into rescue. He will need some training and he has now been neutered, vaccinated and been microchipped.

Rex is currently in a foster home and is doing very well, he has put on weight, is very fit and looking wonderful! Rex has proved to be a very happy boy that wants to please and loves to play.

He has been learning the fun of playing with other dogs, he is also learning basic commands, will now sit nicely for his food and not eat until told to, his recall is getting better all the time, especially if there is a treat waiting for him! He loves to be made a fuss of and he is always ready for a tummy rub, he has the fun loving personality of a Boxer and can get over excited and jump up but this is improving as he learns what is acceptable behavior.

Rex would love a home of his own where he can settle an become part of a family, he has shown no bad ways towards children but because of his excitable nature and size he will only be placed in a home with older children.

This is Angel, she is a Bull Mastiff cross aged approximately 12 month old and is only a small girl. She spent the first 11 months of her life with just a balcony in some flats for her outside space, so was obviously overwhelmed when confronted with the outside world. However, she has adapted well and now loves her walks and her playtimes. She is being introduced to other dogs and seems to be coping with that and is now ready to be looking for a new home.
