Dachshund Cross

Connie and Mason

Meet Connie and Mason, they are two female and male 5 year old + dogs, Connie is a Dachshund cross Jack Russell Terrier, Mason is a Spaniel cross Basset Hound. Connie and Mason are a delightful pair of little dogs with two different personalities, but very bonded to each other. As they have been together for 5 years we want to rehome them as a pair.

Connie is very lively and definitely the dominant one.  She is determined to get on your lap and have a really good cuddle. Mason is a gentle soul and seems more sensitive. He loves affection too but is not so insistent.

They are extremely friendly but apparently do not like other dogs very much and will be brave and feisty when on leads but run away from other dogs when off lead. They are not good with cats but are good with kids.

Bruno

Bruno is a 7 year old Dachshund cross. He is a very sweet, affectionate and outgoing dog. He loves playing with toys. He gets on very well with Lady but does not like any other dogs so should always be kept on the lead when out for a walk. He needs to go to a home with older children and his best friend Lady (also featured on DogsBlog.com).

Trixie

Trixie is a female Whippet cross Dachsund aged 1-2 years old. Trixie is a cheeky, confident and somewhat impetuous young lass. A whirlwind of energy and enthusiasm, she is constantly looking for things to do. Inquisitive and smart, she will need owners that are not afraid of a challange and prepared to take her on as “working project”.

Owners must appreciate she’ll always have a fun but willful side to her, and she is needs a real character match.  Trixie is looking for a mature, adult-only household in order to provide the consistency she will need. Her new owners must have very good experience of fiesty female Terriers types, especially strong minded and mischievous characters. Experience of confident Whippets would also be accepted.

Trixie is not suitable to live with kids or visiting kids, although experienced visiting teens may be considered. Due to Trixie’s high chase drive and her worried nature around traffic, she will need to be rehomed into a semi rural or rural environment. Unfortunately Trixie cannot live with cats Trixie could live with a mature interactive male dog. She cannot live with a female dog.

Trixie has bags of energy and a quick walk around the park will not suffice, she will need owners that will channel her energy into something constructive. While training can be done with Trixie in order to work on her behavioual issues, her character is not going to change, and potential owners should appreciate who she is.

Trixie is at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London. Please call the Behaviour Unit on 020 7627 7884 if you are interested in Trixie or email us on behaviourrehoming@dogshome.org and quote ref2006/05416. Trixie will need some further training in her new home.
