English Bull Terrier Cross

Smithy – 2 year old male English Bull Terrier Cross

This handsome boy is Smithy, he is a 2 year old male English Bull Terrier Cross. Smithy came to us via another rescue centre as a stray, so unfortunately we have no previous history about him. He responds well to calm consistent handling and his training is progressing well. Smithy will however need experienced dog owners to enable him to reach his full potential. He is suitable to live with older mature children that are able to adapt to his training requirements. He is currently unsuitable to live with cats as he is too fixated on them at present. He is also being assessed around other dogs daily.

Floss – 2 year old female English Bull Terrier Cross

My name is Floss and I am a 2 year old English Bull Terrier Cross. I am a lovely, sweet girl who loves to sit on laps for cuddles. I am timid of other dogs so would be better suited as the only dog in a home. I have had basic training but would benefit from further lead training and socialising with other dogs. I have a lovely, kind nature and will make a rewarding pet to own. I am suitable to live with children over 6.

Ava – 7 month old female English Bull Terrier Cross

Ava is a beautiful 7 month old female English Bull Terrier Cross puppy who needed so much extra loving care and guidance in her youth and has had inconsistency, abandonment and neglect. She has shown herself to be able to settle into routine and begin to attune within the requirements of her situation, but needs a dog experienced person to help her develop methods to communicate her needs and build trust within her situation. She also enjoys an active regime where she can enjoy other dogs company and the outside life. She becomes connected, but can display over excitement and her energy can be described as “over the top” as if it is louder than it needs to be -coming from a dog who lives her life in silence.

She is mainly white in colour and sadly for her deaf. Still chewing, can be very high energy in the house when excited. Mixes with dogs well inside and outside. Needs management around food, rubbish bins etc. displays behaviours associate with a dog that has been hungry and without assured mealtimes. Can ’snap’ air to communicate her concerns, but no mal-intention unless rare occassions when she can guard food.

Ava has already stolen our hearts. Her needs are keenly apparent. Can you offer her stability, firm loving kindness and train her in a repetoire of sign language. She needs to keep her socialisation skills, have a tight regime around meals to avoid hunger and the stress that feeling gives her. With this love she will gain confidence within new situations with her safety paramount and assured. Ava is spayed, chipped and newly vaccianted. She is in good health, but currently feeling the cold in kennels so wrapped in her dog coat and needing refuge.

“Please note that this dog is currently in kennels and is also available for foster until a ‘forever’ home is found”.

Eddie – 1 1/2 year old male English Bull Terrier Cross

Eddie is a 1 1/2 year old male English Bull Terrier Cross. He is a people lover and also a dog lover. Just 15 months old, Eddie is coming to terms with disability. In February he was hit by a car – cuts and grazes with nerve damage affecting his front left leg. He is now less effective and his paw folds under, as residual disability. He needed more time to allow for a natural recovery but sadly his owner moved and couldn’t take Eddie with him. He has since had his leg fully amputated and is getting around fine.

He lost his home at a crucial time when he most needed love and care, to see his recovery through and adjustment to some residual disability. Eddie is neutered, chipped and vaccinated. Oh Eddie is such a wonder dog.

Eddie was homed in with a pack of older dogs; one young 6 month puppy and ‘other animals’. During the 4 months he had firmed up his skills further and now rarely ‘chews’ other than his own items. The amount of aftercare and resultant closeness has set up tensions between him and the adolescent pup who is equally needing attention at his stage of growth. So now they are separated. Eddie is neutered, chipped and fully vaccinated.

Eddie continues to do well. He is off lead in the park and has a fan club who he makes a point of meeting and fussing whenever he is out. He isn’t restricted by his disability only in needing to pace himself so he can propel himself into a momentum to achieve skill and agility. He continues to mix well with all other dogs whatever age, size or breed. Eddie’s mother was an English Bull terrier and his father was an English Bull Terrier cross. He is very handsome. Meet Eddie and you will see why he has a film star status in his neighbourhood. Incredible dog with mega charisma. Currently with his family in Worthing, E Sussex.

Tex – 3-4 year old male English Bull Terrier cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Tex is around 3-4 years old and probably English Bull Terrier cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier. He’s not great with other male dogs but seems to be reasonably ok with females but this is still under assessment.

Tex is a little tyke. He loves to play . . . especially, his favourite game – tug of war with the dog lead!

A great little full of fun dog but will need an owner prepared to be firm but fair otherwise he’ll run rings around you (literally)!! A cheeky little chap who will be great for someone looking for a dog with bags of character.

Currently kennelled in Treswell, please call Louise on the number above.
