Nelson is a gorgeous English Bulldog cross Staffie he is approx 2 years old he was picked up as a stray and was due to be put to sleep so NRBR stepped in and made him safe. We are so glad we did as he is a joy to have around he loves everyone he meets and is great with other dogs. He loves to climb up onto your knee and give you lots of kisses. He loves toys and just wants to please you. He is a joy to have around. Currently in Rotherham.

He is another boy who has been in our care a very long time now but there’s really no reason why – he loves people and loves to play around with you. His only requirement really is that he would need to be the only pet as he hates other animals (plus after all this time – he wants all your fuss for himself).

Homing Requirements: Dove could easily live with a dog or 2. She is ‘terrier’ so cats and small furries are too exciting. She has prey drive so leaded around livestock and streets where cats and foxes run a mock. Secure terrier-proof garden and exit management. Could possibly be first time dog owner’s dog due to her dog fluency and general charm!

Her Story: Dove was found walking down a high street at 2 am in the morning by the police. She obviously had a litter of pups somewhere as she was full of milk, but her condition was very poor so obviously no caring owner around. She was unclaimed and came to us for TLC. Her poor condition was due to malnutrition and under nutrition, basically related to all nourishment having gone to her pups. Now spayed, chipped and going through vax.

Advert: Doves fly from those they fear, but land and grace their loved ones with blessings. Dove has landed amongst our rescue to be admired and nurtured as her flight up until now, took its toll. Dove is dog fluent and a happy mixer. She could be an only dog or live with many. She is fostered on a small holding/chicken farm and her terrier traits don’t make it easy!

Dove is a Parson’s Jack Russell size and in nature BUT she definitely has the very loving gentle bull breed qualities of an English Bull. She is still a puppy in many ways and so mischievous which brings fun into her activities and her owner?! She is an easy terrier but needs training and support through her adolescence as she catches up, dots her i’s and crosses her t’s.

Please visit Dove’s thread on our forum: http://rescueremedies.myfastforum.org/about6054.html to find out more and follow her progress.

If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire https://rescueremedies.wufoo.com/forms/r7x3s5/ so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

For daily updates click our forum logo on our homepage and you will find the full range of dogs that are available for homing – http://rescueremedies.myfastforum.org/index.php

***PLEASE NOTE: We are a rescue finding dogs their forever homes. We usually ask for a minimum donation of £150 at the time of adoption, for each dog, to help us continue helping homeless dogs***.

Woody is a 6 year old English Bull Terrier cross boy who came into kennels on 25th November 2011 after his owner could no longer care for him properly and we were told that he was living outside in a coal shed. He had previously lived with 5 cats and when the lady rehomed these poor Woody started to pine after them. Before coming into our care we were told that Woody was born with a genital defect but nothing could prepare us for the extent of this, it was like nothing we nor our vet had ever seen before.

Woody’s penis looked as though it has been torn apart and although he could urinate properly this was obviously causing him a lot of discomfort. After being examined by the vet it became clear that it would not be fair to let Woody continue to live the way he was and so the decision to reconstruct his genitals was made. On Tuesday 13th December Woody underwent the long and complicated surgery but was still quite poorly when we went to collect him that evening and so our wonderful vet team kept a close eye on him in the surgery for 2 nights.

Sadly Woody’s surgery has now left him with no genitals but we think it just makes him that little bit more special. Woody is now recovering well and is looking for a special home to call his own. He is a very friendly and outgoing little boy who has proven to be clean and non destructive in his kennel. He has shared his walks with other dogs but can be quite picky with what canines share his company and therefore would be best suited to a home where he can be the only dog. However resident dogs will be invited for several introductions. Woody has became a firm favourite at the kennels and we all love him dearly.

Jess is a Jack Russell Terrier cross English Bull Terrier about 5 years old. She is only small, about the size of a corgi. She is fit and healthy and very lively so you need to be active to keep up with her. She will need lots of exercise and playtime and attention. She loves to play ball, the photos shows her with an 8 years old girl. Jess is very friendly with adults, children and dogs. She is not cat friendly. Jess is well trained and obedient, doesn’t pull on the lead. She will sit and give a paw, comes to have her lead on, fetches a ball back to your feet and drops it as if to ask for it to be thrown again. Although Jess is very good with children we do not want her to go to a home with children due to her past experience with them. This affectionate girl is well behaved in the house, easy to live with and settles well if left alone for a few hours and in her bed overnight. She travels well in the car without whining or being car sick. Jess will stand nicely in the shower to be shampooed, and loves being towel dried. Her coat is shiny and soft and she is very smart. Jess is exceptionally intelligent and learns very fast. We have taken advice from a behaviourist who says she must be trained with reward based techniques and not challenged or confronted as she may have suffered cruelty in the past. Therefore Jess needs a happy, confident and experienced dog owner. Jess is fostered on a smallholding and doesn’t chase horses or free range hens. She is living with 9 other dogs of all types, ages, shapes and sizes and gets on very well with them all. She absolutely loves charging about the fields and jumping through the long grass with the other dogs. Jess is a playful, happy girl who will make a super companion and pet and reward her new owner’s kindness with fun times and tremendous loyalty. Jess will make a wonderful pet and companion dog for a calm confident owner in a calm quiet home. She will not let a stranger into the house if the owner is not at home. This means we need a very experienced, confident owner. No children please although she loves them.

Understandably nervous, great with cats and great with other dogs both male and female, would prefer he went with another dog for added confidence. Would prefer a home with no children as stanley would better suit a quieter environment with somebody who has the time to help build trust in stan.

Devon is 1 ½ year old English Bull terrier cross. He is a lively playful boy that has loads of energy! Once he has had a good run he loves to have his cuddles too! He is a strong boy that needs owners that can handle him, he walks very nicely on a gentle leader and he responds well to training. Devon loves his food and this should be used to teach him all he needs to know. Devon loves his toys, especially tennis balls – he can hold four in his mouth at any one time! Devon is good with other dogs, but he can be OTT so new owners must be prepared to socialise him once home. Devon will make a wonderful companion in the right home that is prepared to give him a chance!

Type of home needed: Devon is looking for a home that is experienced with dogs, staffi experience is preferred. Minimal leaving hours as Devon is still a young boy! New owners must be interested in training as he needs some guidance. Children 8 and upwards.

Matthew is an older English Bull Terrier cross boy who is brindle and white. Oh sweet sweet Matthew, my heart breaks for you that you have been passed by for so many years. He is a wonderful friendly dog who adores people and loves to play around. However, he really struggles to be around any other animals so would need to be an only dog and his new owner would need to understand that he is unlikely to want to socialise with other dogs or animals in the home or out on walks. Matthew has so much to give to that special person who he hopes is just around the corner.
