English Cocker Spaniel
Pippa – 7 year old female English Cocker Spaniel
Pippa, 7 year old female Cocker Spaniel. Pippa is a really sweet girl who deserves a great home. Pippa walks well with a harness and has travelled well in the car. She will need another resident dog to show her about life as a pet. Pippa has never been around children so we would like a home without any for her. She will also need new owners who are around for most of the day. Pippa will be vaccinated, micro chipped and spayed prior to rehoming. She is on foster in Charlton London.

Benji – 8 year old male English Cocker Spaniel
Benji is an 8 year old red English Cocker Spaniel (neutered) who came into care through no fault of his own. He gets on well with other dogs and children and has given the foster team no cause for concern since his arrival in the New Year. He is house trained, crate trained and only pulls a bit on the lead however his recall will need a little work.

Benji is not territorial and while he gets on well with other dogs he is not a big player or particularly interested in toys. This older gent is a happy, relaxed and easy going dog who is people orientated. Benji does like company and would be most comfortable a quite household. If you would like to offer Benji a permanent home please call 07853 892884.

Daisy is an 11 years young Cocker Spaniel. She is hard of hearing and blind in one eye. Daisy desperately wants a new home where her owners are able to look after her and pamper her a little: she arrived in a sorry state, with a dreadful ear infection and horribly matted coat, the combination of which caused her considerable pain. She also has a few skin growths but these are cosmetic flaws only. Now treated, she is enjoying a new lease of life – she loves her walks and gets very happy and waggy tailed when she knows she is going out (she is quite happy on a flexi lead due to her hearing).
Daisy is well mannered with other dogs and friendly and gentle with people. She will invariably come to you for a stroke or a cuddle. We are not sure how she is with cats, though she has shown no interest in free ranging chickens, so has little to no prey drive. She is housetrained and will make it known if she needs to go out to toilet. She adores being with people, but is able to sleep on her own at night too (even though she’d clearly prefer sharing your bed!).
Daisy needs a new home with older children and people who can give her the life she deserves. She has had her 1st vaccinations, flea and worm treatments and has been spayed. Daisy is in foster in Sidcup, Kent.

Ronnie – 8 year old male English Cocker Spaniel
Hello, my name is Ronnie. I’m an eight year old male Working Cocker Spaniel. I arrived at The Mayhew because my owners moved to a property which didn’t allow pets. I am a friendly and sweet natured boy and I get along well with everyone I meet. I am toilet trained, I can be left on my own for a few hours without any problems, I travel well in the car and I am eager to please. I love going to the park and I enjoy sniffing around. I’m not keen on other dogs, I’ll ignore them if they keep their distance but I don’t like it if they get too close. For this reason I will need careful and controlled exercise, wearing a muzzle and longline on my daily off lead walks in the park. I am super affectionate and enjoy a good cuddle. I also love being groomed. After cuddles my next favourite thing is playing with a bouncy ball.

I am now looking for a forever home with a sensible and experienced owner who has researched my breed type. I would happily live with sensible children from eight years of age and upwards but I’ll need to be the only pet in the household. I will need a home which is out of town in an area where I can be exercised without coming into constant contact with lots of other dogs. My new owners will be expected to continue my training and provide me with a minimum of one hour of controlled off lead exercise every day. If you’re interested in adopting me you will need to be fully prepared for the hard work and long-term commitment involved in caring for a dog, which must not be taken lightly.
I hope to see you soon
Ronnie

Violet – 4-5 year old female Cocker Spaniel
This is Violet, 4-5 year old red cocker spaniel, she is an ex-breeder so as you can imagine not had the best of lives so far. She is at the moment very scared and shut down and just wants to hide. I can’t even take her for a walk as she is terrfied and won’t budge, so we are going to be taking things extremely quietly and slowly with her. She would need an experienced and patient home to teach her how to be a happy dog, and other confident dogs around her would really help the process. She is in foster care with 3 children and 2 other dogs.

Autumn – 7 year old female English Cocker Spaniel
So here is the beautiful Autumn, she is around 7yrs old and an ex-breeder. She is at the moment very sad and cautious, and just seems to want to be on her own, or escape, so we are keeping a very close eye on her and letting her come round in her own time. She will need a secure place, as keeps looking to get out. Have not let her off lead yet as I think she will be too scared. Needs time patience and understanding to come out of her shell, needs nice quiet retirement home after all those years spent making money for people. She deserves the best. Call ddr for more info and to come and see Autumn.
