Dulcie – 2 year old female Greyhound

Dulcie is currently in foster alongside other Greyhounds and doing very well. She is very small for a Greyhound bitch and is very sweet and loving. Although smaller Dulcie does have a lot of energy – well a lot more than is typical for the breed and is a bit of a minx. Out and about on lead Dulcie can be reactive at times however being small this is quite easy to manage and she does react to a firm no. Dulcie is definitely the sort of dog that needs consistency and will need continued work with socialisation although her foster Mum is VERY greyhound experienced and is working hard with this.

In the house Dulcie can get up to mischief and you have to watch her with the TV as she can be quite stimulated by animals that she sees on there and again a firm NO stops this. She is a happy-go-lucky girl who loves people but we feel that a home with older children 10 plus would be best. Dulcie is happy to co-exist with other greyhounds but we do know she would be fine to be an only dog with someone around all or most of the time to settle her to begin with. We do feel though she would benefit having someone around most of the time to continue bringing her forward. She is good to be left, clean and also crate trained and does like to use her crate.

Dulcie is NOT cat friendly and has to be watched around little dogs. If co-existing with another dog she would much prefer it to be another greyhound.

Dulcie is vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped and spayed.

For more information or to offer Dulcie a home in the first instance we ask that you complete the pre adoption questionnaire below and we will get back to you.

Rosie – 4 year old female Greyhound

Rosie is a four year old Greyhound. She is a very happy and waggy girl and is a pleasure to know. Rosie came to us after her racing career finished and she is now looking for a forever home where she can be loved and see life rather than kennels. She has been in foster for several weeks and is housetrained, can be left for a few hours and settles downstairs well overnight.

She is currently fostered with two more hounds, both male and female and co exists quite happily with them. Rosie does like attention and fuss and for this reason, we would prefer she either goes to a home with another male dog or as an only dog where she can get all the attention she would like.

Rosie walks well on lead and shows no particular interest in other dogs both big and small when out. She is a clever girl and is learning commands and wants to please, she will make someone a super friend.

Rosie is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and flead and wormed. She can be homed both locally and nationally, dependent on a successful homecheck.

Shreddie – 3 1/2 year old male Greyhound

Hey, I’m Shreddie! I’m a 3 1/2 year old Greyhound boy and I have come all the way from Ireland as a stray and I am looking for a new home.  I am a loveable chap who loves to be out and about exploring the outside world and I love going for nice walks.  I can live with a doggy pal in my new home but we will have to see how we get on at the centre first.

I can also live with children in my new home but I would have to meet them at the centre first to see how we interact. Please come and see me if you can offer me the home I long for!

Jake – 5 year old male Greyhound

Jake is a five year old black male greyhound. He’s switches betweeen being excited to see you and out of his kennel when he sees a lead to not really knowing what to do when you give him a cuddle and some love. This is quite common with ex-racing Greyhounds. Jake is a full pedigree Greyhound (this can be traced from his ear tattoos and is shown on Greyhound data http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?rt=et&lt=stv&sex=m&color=&birthyear=&birthland).

His racing name was Lukayva. Jake was born in Ireland in October 2006 and raced 11 times in Birmingham in 2009 but as he’s turned up in rescue kennels he is now sadly be an unwanted asset. Can you offer this gentle boy the retirement home which will enable him to gain his confidence, learn how to play and enjoy cuddles? Greyhounds make such wonderful pets given a bit of time and TLC. Jake is fine with other dogs and good on the lead.

Mia – 3 month old female German Shepherd Dog

Mia is a beautiful black and tan 3 month old German Shepherd girl. We saved her from being put down in The Pound. She has a wonderful temperament and nature. Mia is good with other dogs and is being fostered in a multi dog house hold. Mia loves to play with her toys. She is a happy dog and is young enough to be introduced to cats.

We are looking for a home where someone is around for most of the day as Mia is still so very young. We are looking for an experienced home or with German Shepherd experience.

We strongly recommend puppy socialisation and training classes to get the most out of her.

Mia is vaccinated and wormed but will need to be spayed and micro-chipped when old enough as part of the adoption agreement and proof of this will be required.

Mia is being fostered in North London near J26 of the M25. We are looking to re-home her in or around this area or neighbouring counties.

If you feel you can off Mia a loving forever home please fill in an adoption form on www.leavalleydogrescue.co.uk or phone Yasmina on 07815547667 eves.
