Jack Russell Terrier

Sally – 10 year old female Jack Russell Terrier

Sally is an approx 10 year old Minature Jack Russell Terrier who came over from Ireland after being picked up as a stray and never claimed.

Sally has got a lovely temperament and has lived with children for 7 weeks in her foster home, is great with other dogs, ignores cats and shows no reaction to small caged animals. Sally does have a small fatty lump on her stomach, but this has been checked by the vet and he has confirmed that it is unattached to anything so can be left alone.

At some stage in her life Sally has had a full mammary strip meaning that she is probably spayed. It also means that she has no nipples! She is fully vaccinated and microchipped too. A homecheck will be carried out and a minimum adoption fee applies.

Stewie – 2-3 year old male Jack Russell Terrier

Please meet adorable Stewie who is an adorable 2-3 year old Jack Russell Terrier who was found living as a stray with another terrier in the welsh mountains. Stewie is living at home with me in foster at the moment, and although very wary and nervous at first, he now wags his tail so much, his whole body wiggles, when he sees me. If im quiet and calm, he will come to me for affection, and is becoming more and more comfortable with being stroked.

Initially he is a very scared and nervous boy, but he has come on so much already, and will continue to do so in a home who is sympathtic to his needs. Stewie would love a nice quiet home, with someone who has time and patience. He is such a rewarding dog to have around, everyday he comes on in leaps and bounds, and after just 2 weeks here he is already initiating play with me, and leaps up to give kisses.

Stewie has been castrated, microchipped, wormed, deflead and started his vaccinations. Stewie is good with other dogs, not cat tested. Best suited to a home without young children, only due to his nerves.

Stewie would be an ideal dog for an older person / couple. He is a fun, loving dog… who just needs time to allow him to build up his trust. Once he does, he will reward you by being a loving and loyal dog for the rest of his years.

Buddy – 1 year old male Jack Russell Terrier

Buddy is a tiny, very cute, affectionate, rough coat Jack Russell Terrier about a year old. He is a nervous chap who needs to know the rules to give him confidence. He loves people who are calm and quiet and would not do well in a noisy household. Buddy is your best friend, he follows you everywhere.

He is good with dogs although can be nervous at first and a bit snappy until he gets to know them. Buddy needs a confident, experienced dog owner with a lot of time and patience to socialise him and build his confidence otherwise he may become dog aggressive. He will reward with tons of love and loyalty. Due to his nervous nature we would not rehome him with children.

He needs company so no full time workers please. He can be left alone in the house in a crate where he feels safe otherwise he has a tendency to chew and destroy things. He travels well in the car.

Snowy – 14 year old male Jack Russell Terrier

Super little Snowy is a 14 year old Jack Russell Terrier who came into our care because his owner had died. He has been in a foster home in Tyne and Wear but he is due to move to a foster home in Milton Keynes in the next few days. Lovely character: Snowy is a great little chap who loves being stroked and is very happy to jump up and sit on your lap if allowed. He is an affectionate lad. Snowy’s perfect home: Snowy will make a wonderful companion for an active older person as this is the type of life he is used to. Snowy is used to a home where he is the only dog and where there are no children and it seems as though he would probably be happiest with this arrangement. Someone with experience of the terrier temperament would be perfect for Snowy.

Out and about: Snowy is still a fairly active boy who enjoys his walks and likes to interact with other dogs. He stays on his lead due to being deaf and not seeing too well. He is very good on the lead. He is also good in the car and settles after a few minutes. Used to cats: Snowy has lived with a cat in the past and so, with careful introductions, he should be fine to live with a cat in his new home. Around the home: Snowy is generally fine around the home and he settled into his foster home within a couple of days. He is OK to be left alone for a few hours. He doesn’t like to be shut away in a separate room though. When he first arrived in his foster home, he marked his territory, probably due to stress, but this has gradually decreased and now seems to have stopped.

Loves his food: He is a great eater and will eat his dinner pretty much straight away every time. Due to his lack of hearing and poor sight, Snowy defends his food and treats if you approach him suddenly and startle him, but he will probably be fine in this respect once settled again into a quiet home. Health notes: Snowy seems to be in fairly good shape for his age. He is quite deaf and almost blind in one eye, and he has medication for a heart murmur. He had a bad flea infestation when he arrived and has created a raw patch due to the irritation. This is being treated and responding well. He is vaccinated, wormed and flea-treated and will be microchipped and neutered.

Foster carer’s summary: Snowy is a lovely companion and would make a great friend for someone.

Freddie – 4 year old male Jack Russell Terrier Cross

Freddie is around 4 years old and is a Jack Russell Terrier cross. Freddie is an adorable little dog who is tragically looking for a new home through no fault of his own, having been with his present family for around 3 and a half years. He is a fantastic companion and loves nothing better than to cuddle up next to you on the sofa and will take as much fuss and attention as you can give him. He has a super temperament and loves everyone and everything! He is very good with other dogs and loves to play with them. He is even good with cats and currently lives with one. Freddie really loves his walks and likes to go off lead every day in the countryside or at the beach. Freddie can be left for a few hours with no problems.

Freddie is already neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is still with his family in West Norfolk, who are devastated to have to part with him, and we hope to be able to find Freddie a home very soon so that he does not have to go into kennels. Freddie would be devastated to find himself alone in kennels, especially at this time of the year in the very cold weather.

Freddie is a lively, happy dog and he would do best in a home with older children and could possibly live with a female dog. Freddie can be rehomed outside the county, within reason, subject to a successful homecheck.

If you think you can provide this sweet little dog with a loving permanent home, where he will get plenty of exercise to keep him healthy and lots of fuss and cuddles to keep him happy, please contact us as soon as possible.

Ozzie – 2 year old male Jack Russell Terrier

Ozzie is a smooth haired short legged 2 year old male Jack Russell Terrier. Multiple homes/names we were his 6th. Mixes well with dogs, cats, people and likes company. After the RTA he has a plate in back left leg. Our vet removed his hip joint and it is now supported successfully by ligaments which serve him well. Generally OK with visitors, but may get concerned. Ideal for multi-dog/cats household.

Ozzie has a footballer feel. He wants to be pottering about, following his family around, but can be left. He isn’t too demanding, but having said that he needs a family there for his needs as he has had multiple homes and came originally to us frightened of traffic, strangers and ‘in pain’. He has lived successfully for a year in circumstances which changed soon after homing and left him as an only dog metering out the hours. We are looking for a family life where he can enjoy trips in the car, walks around the park, shadowing his family in the kitchen, in the garden or sitting at your feet under the computer table.

When in pain Ozzie’s mood can be down and we believe gentle pottering around will keep his back leg fluid and avoid stiffness and pain. Ozzie is a young dog and has a lovely spirit of adventure and he adores outings. Ozzie definitely has some ghosts from his past which surface when he is down, but in a family where there is a good balance between dog activities, ‘play and walks’ with domestication this will give him the opportunity to ‘actively watch’ and receive affection on his terms. Ozzie the footballer is more of a ‘goalie’ player, an avid follower and fan. But love sport he does.

“Please note that this dog is currently in kennels and is also available for foster until a ‘forever’ home is found”.
