Raffa – 2 year old male Japanese Akita
Raffa is a gorgeous boy of just over 2 years, currently based in the Cheshire area he finds himself in need of a new home due to no fault of his own.
Raffa has been brought up with children; however he does also enjoy his own space – so dog savvy kids only please! Raffa responds well to commands, however he is still very strong on the lead and will need continued socialisation, he is not great with other dogs having met few so would prefer to be the only furry in the home! We feel Raffa would benefit by an owner with large breed experience, if that’s you and this gorgeous boy is the one for you please get in touch!
Kai – 14 month old male Japanese Akita
This is Kai, a handsome 14 month old Akita man looking for a new home due to a change in his owner’s working hours. Kai displays a good knowledge of commands and is responsive to correction when displaying some typical puppy behaviour! Being treat orientated, he will respond well to further training in his new home. Confident without being dominant or pushy, Kai is a big lad with plenty more growing to do, however he is eager to please, and with the use of a headcollar walks well on the lead.
Having had little contact with other dogs, he doesn’t show signs of dog aggression when out walking, however this would need to be further tested with potential housemates! Kai has had very little contact with children, and as such he will not be placed in a home with a young family. Could this gorgeous young man be the one for you?

Meet Harvey, an excitable 2 year old young Japanese Akita in West Yorkshire looking for a new home, after being picked up as a stray. Taken to the pound, Harvey served his seven days and has now been moved to Friends of Akitas safe kenneling. Described as an alert and friendly boy, Harvey has obviously had previous training, and was happy to sit or lie down, wait and give his paw!
Kennel staff at the pound claimed that Harvey loves his food, however he would patiently wait for a treat and take it gently. Despite being a small boy, Harvey pulls a lot on the lead, once out and walking for a while he calms down enough to respond to correction – Harvey will be tested with different walking aides now that he is under Friends of Akitas care. Currently untested with other dogs, Harvey will be further observed in kennels and this information updated accordingly! This is Crystal, a beautiful 3 years old white Akita in West Yorkshire who had been cruelly tied up and abandoned, before being taken to the pound. Rescued from death row by the rescue, Crystal has now been with us since March 2009, along with Pujo (FOA Ref 184) who she was found tied up with. Whilst these two can be re-homed as a pair, since coming to the kennels they have grown increasingly independent and we are confident that they could be placed separately.
Crystal is a lively girl, with a lovely big smile, she loves to play outdoors and is friendly with people. Crystal has previously lived with Pujo, and could potentially live with another dog, pending successful introductions.
