Lewis – 4-5 month old male Labrador cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier
This is Lewis a 4 – 5 month old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross Labrador adorable puppy, who was sadly dumped after, we presume he’s owners could not afford his vet bill or could not sell him due to his disability.
As you can see from the photos, poor Lewis has been born with deformed legs and toes and to save him we will need to operate and re set his legs over a period of time.
He is the most fantastic little boy, full of love and cuddles unaware of his problems and just wants to be able to carry on playing and running with his doggy friends.
Can you help us help Lewis or maybe eventually offer him a home of his own?

This is Malachi, he’s a 7 year old Labrador Cross who came into kennels along with 12 other dogs. He’s spent most his life outdoors so will need time to get used to living in a home. Malachi loves being outdoors mixing with other dogs, this is when he’s at his most confident. He’s a typical lab who loves his food, so use tasty, smelly treats for building a bond and training. Malachi would benefit from a calm home with older children, if any. New owners will need to be patient with him and to not expect too much too soon. He would also benefit from going to live with another confident dog who can show him the way! He really is a lovely boy with a nice nature who deserves a nice home.
Benny – 1-2 year old male Labrador cross Chow Chow
Benny is a 1 – 2 year old male Labrador cross Chow Chow. He loves people and other dogs and likes nothing more than then good old game of fetch! He knows basic commands but would benefit from further training. He is up for adoption as his previous owners had no time for him.
He will make a great family dog, could live with children aged 8 plus and will be neutered prior to rehoming. Can you offer this lovely chap his forever home?

Abbie is a 1 year old Labrador cross female seeking her forever home. She is very sweet natured and good with other dogs. She could live with children 8+. Abbie has been spayed, vaccinated, wormed and deflead.

Henry is an active 2-3 year old Labrador Cross who came in via dog warden. He’s fun and friendly and can’t wait to find a new home.

Chaz is a 2 – 3 year old male Labrador cross Collie cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier He has the most amazing blue and white coat! He is a lovely boy who is good with others dogs. He is house trained and could be left on his own for a couple of hours provided he has had a good run prior. He can live with children aged 10 years plus but not cats. He will be neutered prior to rehoming.
Georgio – 4 year old male Labrador Retriever
Hello, my name is Georgio
I’m a four year old, male Labrador Retriever. I arrived at The Mayhew because my owner’s ill health meant she couldn’t look after me properly. I’m a very happy soul. I love to meet people and always greet everyone I know with a wagging tail. I can be a little unsure of strangers, once I’ve bonded with someone I feel it is my job to protect them which means I’ll bark at anyone who in my eyes seems untrustworthy. I have been well trained but I didn’t receive much exercise in my previous home, this together with too many treats has meant my waist band is much bigger than it should be! With plenty of exercise, not too many treats and a sensible diet means it shouldn’t take too long to get my figure back. I will need a minimum of one hour of off lead exercise daily in a park or open space, taking it at my own pace to start with until my fitness improves. I don’t like other dogs I’m afraid, so this means I have to wear a muzzle and long line on my daily walks.
I am a well behaved dog, I know all the usually commands and I respond very well to them. I’m also toilet trained and I can be left on my own without any problems. I would be happy to live with someone who works full time providing I’m not left alone for longer than four to five hours without a break, so if you work full time you would need to hire a dog walker, pet sitter, or come home at lunch time to spend some time with me and give me a toilet break. I love to play with my toys especially if someone joins in the game; my favourite is tug of war with a rope toy. I also LOVE my cuddles, especially belly rubs and having my chest scratched. My new guardians will be taking on a ten year commitment, which must not be taken lightly. I would be happy to live with children from thirteen years of age an upwards.

My name is Donovan and I am a 4 year old male Labrador cross. This is my friend Rosie, she is a 3 year old Lurcher. I am a timid but friendly boy who can be vocal. Rosie a timid girl who can be wary of new situations. We are strong on the lead but walk well once we have settled. We have very sweet natures and are affectionate and cuddly. Bailey is a 5 – 6 year old neutered male Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross Labrador. He was given up by his previous owners as they no longer had time for him. He is good with people, dogs and has tested OK with dog confident cats. He knows basic commands and loves cuddles.
