Cassie - 1 year old female Labrador Cross
Cassie is a Labrador Retriever cross female dog who was found as a stray, she is about 1 year old. She is an active dog who will benefit from ongoing training in her new home. She loves the company of people and other dogs so could live with an older dog who can teach her how to behave! She would not be able to live with cats but could live in an active home with teenagers.

Masterful Maxwell is a wonderful 10 year old black Labrador cross. He came into the Centre due to his owners moving into new accommodation that would not allow dogs. Maxwell is still highly active in his twilight years. He loves his long walks in the countryside, which includes lots of games with his favourite toys. Maxwell also likes to relax with a nice groom which allows him to enjoy a little extra fuss!
Maxwell is a very calm and well mannered dog and as he is slightly older he would prefer a quieter home where he can spend the rest of his autumn days. Being so gentle Maxwell could live with older children and also another suitably matched dog.
Maxwell would be a magical first time companion for a family who enjoys the outdoors too. In the right home Maxwell will prove to be a very fun loving and dedicated friend for the rest of his adventurous days.
Ideally he should not routinely be left for more than 4 hours. He would be best suited to a home with older childre and to a home with another suitably matched dog. He also needs a secure garden with 6ft fences.

Another lovely young boy, Sam is 2 years old. He was described to us as a Retriever cross Collie ( I think the Retriever is Labrador Retriever). Sam had been taken to the vets as a last resort to be destroyed by his very elderly owners who simply couldn’t cope with a young bouncy dog and had been unable to secure him a rescue space, when fate stepped in and now the handsome lad is with us.
Sam is house-trained, very affectionate and sociable. He is pretty obedient too, but would definitely benefit from some classes to add the polish and build a bond with his new owners.
Sam mixes well with other dogs, loves to play, but can be a bit of a pest insisting the game isn’t over and hassling them to play some more. This is getting better as regular exercise that is appriopriate to his needs kicks in. Sam travels well in the car and would be happy to live with another dog/s.
He is perhaps a little bouncy for toddlers unused to dogs, but would be a super family dog, would love to learn to play football, go camping & roll in the mud with the kids! He is not for those who work full time however. I also feel that with a little work, Sam could happily live with cats.

Winnie is a gorgeous, 8 year old, cross-breed lady. I have been told she is a Dalmatian cross Labrador, but maybe there is also a little Collie in there? Winnie is absolutely gorgeous - a very balanced and together girl. Her family had her as a puppy and decided that they could no longer keep her. She is excellent in the car, excellent in the house, excellent with other dogs, and a great pal to have around.
Winnie does pull on the lead, but that is something that can be easily dealt with and is obviously worse at the moment as she has been unhappily in kennels for months - that is why she has come to stay with us, so that at least she will be happy if the wait for her forever home is to be a long one.
Max - 1 year old male Labrador Cross
Max is a lovely black (with white chest) Labrador cross boy, of around a 1 year old. Max is a big dog, but is only a baby still so he will probabaly fill out a bit more. He is the most gentle of dogs, if he was older we would be describing him as the perfect gentleman dog.
As a young puppy Max was saved from life on the streets by a lady who worked shifts. Sadly, her work pattern was not ideal for Max and so she asked us to find him someone with a lifestyle that would give him the life he deserves. Max is fabulous with other dogs, adults and children and I would expect that he would be able to live with cats too. He is clean indoors, has not been destructive and he behaves well in the car too.
Clarence and Eden - 6 year old male and 4 year old female Labrador Retrievers
Clarence is a black Labrador cross, he is 6 year old and loves playing and going on walks. He loves his toys. Eden is 4 years old female golden Labrador, she is bouncy and playful and loves to go on walks. They came in together as strays and love each other very much so would really like to be rehomed together.
Bugsy - 2 year old male Cross-Breed
Bugsy is a medium sized cross-breed male (we think Labrador cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier) aged approximately 2 year old with lots of love and a big smile, despite his bad start! He has been in the care of Kirkby Pet Welfare for some time, and they are looking for an experienced person to give a future to this special dog.
He is a strong, friendly chap, and has the potential to make a very loyal, loving dog, but really needs the patience, care, kindness and training of an experienced owner – all things he did not get in his life before rescue.
Bugsy cannot be placed with another male dog, but could possibly be placed with a calm female dog. He should not go to a home with small children because of his strength. He is neutered and micro-chipped.
