Bessie and Bullseye – 7 year old male and female Lakeland Terrier and Patterdale Terrier cross Jack Russell Terrier

Homing Requirements: Bessie and Bullseye are a devoted couple. Their family will need to be empathetic to the fact they haven’t lived in a house before and be prepared to induct and instruct them. They need their own secure garden to optimise housetraining within and exit management as with any terrier. Potential owners should be financially able to support 2 dogs.

Bessie

Their Story: Bessie’s owner got her at the age of 2 1/2. She had a litter of puppies. Soon after her owners acquired Bullseye as a puppy and he grew up with her, she accepted him as if her own. They have lived out in a small garden in a kennel with a run. They have been around a baby, now a toddler, but mainly kept outside and away from the family. We have neutered, vax’d and chipped them and need to take them into kennels on the 22nd May as their landlady is evicting them!

Bullseye

Advert: Bessie and Bullseye are a very close couple. They appear self-contained emotionally as terriers do, but weave back towards each other, usually sealed with Bullseye licking Bessie’s muzzle. They seem very adaptable and weren’t phased by meeting ducks and swans in a local park. They met dogs off lead quite well: Bullseye a little excited but managed well and soon settled. They will need time to adjust to formal walks but oh how they will enjoy the stimulation. Having both lived outside they should easily come inside with an astute focus on housetraining and allowances made as they develop a sense of home rules and ‘place’. They are both affectionate and their energy levels are quite calm for terriers.

Bessie a black and tan wire-coated small terrier. Her breed type is a Fell terrier but referred to as a ‘Working’ Lakeland. Bullseye is a Patterdale cross Jack Russell again with a wire coat but larger. Both are overweight and a little out of condition. They have lacked an active lifestyle. Neither are barky. If you have had 2 dogs before or are looking to build to two eventually…why not take advantage of a harmoniously devoted couple.

Rodney – 7 year old male Lakeland Terrier

Rodney is a Lakeland neutered male of 7 years. He loves outings in cars, he loves a ball, he’s just a lad really. With dogs he is sometimes bossy if he can get away with it. Loves his bed indoors but outdoors he’s a fun loving guy. He likes all people, may prefer men, really. Not been with small children so best to not put him there. Rodney doesn’t suffer fools gladly when it comes to other dogs and will put them in their place in a calm way but if he wants to play he will instigate it.

Rodney can be left happily for short periods and will not chew or bark, he is never a noisy dog and is thoroughly clean. Everyone loves Rodney the lad. A family with teenagers or a retired fit person with visiting older children would suit very well. Some knowledge of terriers necessary. He has been well loved by all and needs to know now, that someone is there for him.

Currently in Billericay Essex with Animal Action Trust 01277 634406
