Lancashire Heeler
Harry – 5 year old male Lancashire Heeler
Harry the Lancashire Heeler is about 5 years old and is vaccinated and neutered. Harry was originally brought to Freshfields because he nipped his owner. They had wanted to have Harry put to sleep but we managed to persuade them not – and how glad we are!
Harry was rehomed around a year ago and lived there happily for 18 months. Sadly Harry was returned to us recently as his owner has begun to have severe fits.
Harry suffers from separation problems and doesn’t really like to be left. He grumbles and sometimes snaps at your heels as you go try to close gates and doors behind you. When Harry nipped his original owner it was in this situation. This was never a problem while he was in his last home as they left all the doors open.
Harry loves to have a cuddle and gets on just fine with other dogs, although he would prefer not to live with them. He is great on a walk and is fantastic when off the lead – he’ll run as fast and as far as he can (while keeping an eye on you all the time) and then he’ll come charging back. Harry loves greeting new people and getting attention and has never shown any problems when walking with strangers or children.
No medical problems known. Harry does suffer from separation problems so will need a home where someone is at home for most of the time.
Harry is a great dog with bags and bags of character. He’ll need a little patience to adjust to home life again but it will all be worth it we promise. Harry needs an adult only home, with someone who has experience with this breed and so knows what to expect from him. He would benefit from a calm, quiet home.
