Lurcher Cross

Bruno – 3 year old male Lurcher cross Collie

This is Bruno, he is a 3 year old Lurcher cross Collie.

Homing Requirements: Bruno would love a doggie experienced family. He can display throat noises when initially pulling on his lead. Bruno requires his own secure garden. Can be a little possessive of toys or comforts but is easily managed through offering attractive substitutes, needs non-confrontational management. Bruno in true Lurcher form can open internal doors. Could be an only dog or with another fluent dog. Not for cats.

His Story: Bruno was abandoned by his owners in kennels … they just didn’t come back. He moved into our care, endured a long period of kenneling, but is now enjoying foster care living with a lurcher x terrier and older children. Bruno is neutered, chipped and vax’d. He is house-trained.

Advert: Bruno is a character, always with a smile to greet you. He is a little opportunist with food, as lurchers can be, but is generally well mannered in the home. Bruno loves his walks, pulls only at the front of the walk and is off lead away from roads. Bruno enjoys the company of other dogs. Bruno is fostered with tweenagers and adores their company…and their cuddles. Bruno travels well in a car secured or crated.

Bruno is a lovely Lurcher x Collie a cross breed with heaps of character! Bruno is mixing with local dogs and has so enjoyed the summer. Fosterer’s quote “A man’s best friend, he is loyal, lovable, soft and cuddly, great on lead and off, has good recall and loves his food. He can bounce a ball and catch it himself. He loves to sleep downstairs. He is adorable and loves my dog Ziggy” He is Mr Magic – terrific dog”!

Chico – 3 year old male Collie cross Lurcher

Chico is a lovely medium sized collie cross lurcher. He has a sweet nature, good recall and loves to fetch a ball. He is bouncy but trainable and has lots of potential for an active family. He does not do sheep or cats though. Chico recently spent a few days in foster and this is his glowing report.

This 3 year old Collie cross Lurcher, although initially bouncy when meeting new people at the kennels, is anything but in a home. He enjoys human company but is not needy, preferring to find a nice comfy spot nearby to catch 40 winks. Over the 4 days and 3 nights he was in foster Chico was 100% clean and slept right through every night, greeting us in the morning with some gentle kisses and a toothy grin.

Out and about – Chico travels well in the car, walks perfectly on the lead and has good recall. His favourite thing in the whole world is a good game of fetch (or any other game you can think of). Over the weekend he went to Ellesmere, Llangollen, Chirk Car-boot and Shrewsbury, where he met lots of people, kids and other dogs and was great with them all. He coped with crowds, snappy spaniels and passing horses!

Chico is a very clever dog, who is extremely trainable and eager to please. He may enjoy taking up new hobbies such as agility, but seemed quite happy with a good walk followed by a snooze. This handsome lad has been in kennels for 12 months, and has so much love to give. Could you be his new family?

Jake – 9 year old male Lurcher cross German Shepherd

Jake is a beautiful 9 year old (yes really!) crossbreed boy, with possible Lurcher and German Shepherd. Poor Jake and his friend Jemma (also listed on DogsBlog) are looking for loving and secure homes either together or separate due to their owner working long hours and so they are no longer getting the exercise and attention they deserve.

Jake was originally rehomed from Leigh Cats and Dogs Home after being saved from a burning house when he was around 1 year old. He has such a sweet nature and is a very loving, affectionate and friendly boy, who is a real people dog! He is still very active and outgoing and would benefit from a fun family home.

Jake mixes well with other dogs and could share his new home with a doggy friend or two but CANNOT live with cats. Due to Jake’s size and fun loving nature any children must be at least 5 years old and dog savvy. He is in fantastic health and is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

Can you give this lovely boy the life he so deserves?

Jerry – 6 month old male Labrador cross Dalmatian

Jerry is a 6 month old male Labrador cross Dalmation. Jerry is finding the kennels a bit overwhelming, he lays at the back looking a bit sad but is pleased to meet you and is still very baby in his ways. He is rather unsure of going for a walk and does not appear to have done it much , he just want to be as close as he can to you and sticks like glue to your leg and when he is frightened he crawls. He is extremely sweet natured and gets on well with other dogs but not cats. Jerry has been waiting for over a month now for a new home and at such a young age even another day is far to long.
