Patterdale Terrier Cross
Linnet – 1-3 year old female Patterdale Terrier Cross
Linnet is a Patterdale cross and she is actually very good with other dogs. She is in foster with male and female dogs and with two children ages 7 and 14. We think she is around 1-3 ish.
Bella – 10 month old female Whippet cross Patterdale Terrier
Bella is a 10 month old Whippet cross Patterdale Terrier. She is a sociable, lively and lovely girl and one of our festive season casualties. Bella loves being around our other dogs but would very much like a home of her own please. Volunteer dogwalker Gail – “What a little firecracker Bella is. I don’t think she has had any training , and definitely think dog classes would be of benefit to her. I also think once she has done basic training, agility classes would be great for her, and think she’d just love hide and seek games (with toys or treats). She is very bright, very inquisitive and very determined, so will need an outlet for her energy. She gets very excited at meeting adults and children. Older children would be better for her as younger children would just feed her excitement. “

Alli – 8 weeks old female Patterdale cross Collie
This is little Alli we have had her 8 weeks now she was ony 8 weeks when she came to us.

Mollie – 8 year old female Patterdale Terrier cross Jack Russell Terrier
Mollie is a beautiful Patterdale Terrier cross Jack Russell Terrier who is middle aged, 8 years old. She likes a fuss, yet is independent and inquisitive. As a treat – to entice back in from the garden – both dogs get a bit of ham, they associate this with the call to come in. She has a coat for walks in the winter, when it’s cold. She also loves the beach and paddling in the sea. Such a fun accomplished terrier.

Mollie’s family will need the time, means and understanding for 2 older terriers. Have lived with part-time stepchildren 6 years old and upwards and related well, but not for younger as they need conscious children to relate to. They are able to enjoy bed and furniture so should have a similar family home. Preparedness to travel as they are in the Sheffield Area.
Mollie was bought as a pup and Rosie (also featured on DogsBlog.com) was bought 5 months later to join and grow up with her. They have happily lived alongside stepchildren. Mollie has always slept on the step-daughter’s bed when the children were home. An incident with the toddler who grabbed Mollie’s tail, has thrown their homing in the air and they have been held by relatives in Sheffield until a home comes up for them. Now spayed and fully vaccinated and awaiting their new family.

Mollie is a confident terrier who is intelligent and accomplished. She likes exploring and loves her ball, she can only have her ball when playing outside – as she chews and eats it otherwise! She is well behaved off the lead and is OK with other dogs. Mollie is not for cats! She is good at being left for around 6 hours and loves human company. Out of the two dogs, Mollie is the more dominant one and will assert herself over Rosie sometimes over food and affection.

Marmite is a 4 and a half year old Patterdale Terrier cross (possibly some staffie in the mix) and is currently on foster in Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan. They say you either love Marmite or hate Marmite . Well I defy anyone to not LOVE LOVE LOVE this girl. She is everything a dog should be, loving, fun, comical, intelligent……. the works. What could you not like about that?
Marmite has settled in to her foster home very well and got to know her foster brother who is a collie. She has been good with all dogs she has met out on walks and loves a good run around and a play. Marmite can be rehomed with other dogs or as a single dog. She did show some issues with minor possessive behaviour around her foster brother at first but this has been worked on and she has stopped. Care would have to be taken if integrating her with existing dogs so that this behavour does not resurface as the dogs establish their relationship.
Marmite has lived in a home that had outdoor cats before and was Ok with them. However, her foster home has seen a potential desire to chase cats so it may be better if Marmite is rehomed to a feline free house. She would not be suitable to live with small animals such as indoor rabbits.

Marmite has been very good with everyone she has met, she is a loving and affectionate dog at home and is very well socialised and confident with new people. She has spent time with children over the age of 7 years and has been very good with them. She could be rehomed with children over the age of 8 if they are used to dogs. Marmite was rehomed by us previously and came back into our care when her previous owner had a new baby. Marmite was unsettled by the changes and was not comfortable around the baby. Care would have to be taken in future around babies and small children and she would not be a suitable choice for someone looking to start a family in the near future.
Marmite has a good level of basic training already and lovely manners in the home. She is house trained, sleeps soundly all night and walks nicely on the lead. She loves travelling in the car and hops in happily.
Marmite has excellent recall and is very good off the lead. She adores her walks and play and will be looking for an active home who will get her out and about to new places.

This beautiful lady is Lilly. She is a white Patterdale terrier cross born in approximately 2008. Lilly came to us as a stray so unfortunately we have little previous history about her other than she has had a home before but they did not want her!!! Little Lilly is an active, motivated, and affectionate dog who loves her training, walks and time spent with her. Ideally we are looking for a terrier experienced home but this is not essential. Lilly will need plenty of daily exercise so her new family will need to be active and willing to muck in. Lilly is still under assessment with both cats and dogs at the moment but is improving well. She should be ok to live with calm, confident, sensible children aged 12+ who are used to dogs.
Cilla – 7 year old female Patterdale Terrier Cross
Cilla spayed 7 year old Patterdale cross girl. She is absolutely wonderful easy going dog to have around. She loves everyone and loves the fuss from visitors and family alike without being OTT and in your face. She walks on an extendable and can be let off. She has little experience with dogs but is OK if given some time to introduce them. She has visited a friend with a cat and was good there.
She loves children so would suit a retired person with grand kids who visit. She is always clean and can be left for up to 4 hours. She is a little overweight and will need careful attention to diet. Cilla will soon find a special home we are sure, she is a firm favorite with us at Animal Action Essex. She was originally found and adopted out but has been given back due to ill health. Bertie – 2 year old male Patterdale Terrier Cross
Bertie is a 2 year old patterdale cross male. A bundle of fun (as you can see in his picture). He is great with other dogs and has a submissive nature when he gets to know new dogs giving them little kisses. He is a lovely lad that just wants to please. He can be a bit lively and boisterous, but he is just a young lad with a lot of energy.
Bertie loves to have a good run around the garden and go for lots of walks. He loves the water and likes to have a paddle. He is strong on the lead but he is very responsive to lead training.
Bertie is very, very affectionate, he will give you so much love. He loves to cuddle up next to you on the couch in the evenings. He is a gorgeous little lad to cuddle and he is so calm in the evenings.
We would like Bertie to be homed with other dogs, he loves other dogs and loves to play. We don’t think Bertie is suitable to be homed with cats as he likes to chase them.
We are looking for a loving home with other dogs and with someone who is at home most of the day or works part time, with a secure enclosed garden.
If you are interested in Bertie , please call 07545 998355
Bertie can only be rehomed within a 25 mile radius of Leeds.
Tilly – 8 month old female Jack Russell Terrier cross Patterdale Terrier
Tilly is an 8 month old Jack Russell Terrier cross Patterdale Terrier. She is a very sweet, friendly girl who was brought into the Centre as she was not getting on with the other dog she lived with. She has made new canine friends at the Centre and is happy to meet and greet them but would want to live as an only pet. Tilly is well behaved and house trained and she is looking for an active home with a garden to play in. She will require at least two long walks each day and playtime and lots of cuddles. Tilly could live with children over the age of 12 years.
Sam – 3 year old male Patterdale Terrier Cross
This is Sam, who is a 3 year old male Patterdale Terrier Cross who is slightly bigger than Patterdale. He is very much a one man/woman dog so needs someone who understands this trait. When he likes you he is your friend for life but is not suitable for home with lots of people coming and going. Sam really loves his walks and races round with great enjoyment and is good on his recall. He is also best to be only pet, so he can get all the love and attention to himself.
