Leo is a beautiful young “look a like” blond Retriever boy ! He’s very sociable and is good with older kids and other dogs. Leo usually starts off nervous when he meets new people until he feels safe with them and then loves them to bits ! But he needs time to get to know you so maybe a quieter home would be best for him without the activity of children.
Leo has a typical retriever character and very sociable, he has been in a home environment in foster, he is very lovin . He very much likes your attention and fuss and he will return that love four fold. His current location in a foster home in Birmingham, West Midlands. Fantastic boy who’s very happy once he gets over his shyness. Poor Leo needed to be re homed because he doesn’t likes cats – we need a home for him without cats.
Fosterer report: Leo was very nervous at first when he arrived into foster, however, we just ignored him and let him come to us and after a few hours he had settled in fine with us and our dog Rooney. And now after a couple of days he is coming up to us for kisses and cuddles . He has met a couple of the local children and was great with them, however, the kids are very smart and know to be gentle and calm. He does get startled at strange noises on occasion but has been brilliant with the fireworks that we have had the past few nights. Leo has hidden in his bed a few times when my husband has got something in his hands, but has not done this with me, so I think he may have more insecurities with men than women. This was emphasised when my mom visited the other day and he took to her quickly. However, this would just be something he could get over in time because in the short space of time we have had him, he has come on leaps and bounds with his confidence.
Leo is intelligent and understands commands like “sit” and “no” and we think he will learn quite quickly. He does mouth arms and hands at times when excited and this can lead to him trying to hump you sometimes. However, once you know the signs which start the behaviour then a time out in a different room calms him down and swiftly stops the behaviour. Leo is house trained, however, we have had a few accidents but this is to be expected in a new environment and a house where there is another male dog. Leo appears to be fine when we leave him on his own but we do separate him from Roo. He absolutely loves food!! he has nearly knocked me over a few times when he its doggy dinner time, and wolfs his food down, due possibly to his history in Spain as he is skinny at the moment and we are fattening him up nicely. However, as he is very food focused, training with treats is proven to be successful and his new home will need to be careful of this if they have another dog and feed them separately. He and Roo have rubbed along together quite nicely. Leo does seem a bit territorial with his toys and his space and there is a little growl.
However, I do think a lot of it is habit and he is not used to sharing his toys or his cuddles. I do think if Leo goes with another dog they would have to be a similar temperament to Roo and wouldn’t react to an occasional warning growl from Leo, again we are seeing less of this as the time goes by. On walks, Leo is walked on a harness at the moment as he does pull but he is doing well walking alongside Roo on the lead splitter. He is very aware of his surroundings while outside and shows a lot of interest in scents and things (im assuming this is part of the breed) so think he would have to have a lot of training on recall etc before he could be let off lead. He has progressed well on his walks and now doesn’t show much interest in other dogs if they are not bothered with him. He is vaccinated, wormed, flea treated, neutered and has his own pet passport and microchipped.READ MORE ABOUT THIS DOG...
Meet Jet, he is hilarious as he pulls the funniest faces. He is very expressive, he is 12-18 months and we would guess there some Retriever/Setter in there. Brilliant with other dogs and submissive, can be left 4 hours no problem and doesn’t bark or howl. Be great pet for active family.

Maisie is a 4-5 year old black, Retriever cross. She is fabulous with children, cats and other dogs – and lived with 5 children in her previous home. Maisie is house trained and a wonderful girl. Her only fault is that she is very strong on the lead and would benefit from walking on a head collar.
Maisie would make a fantastic family pet. She has such a pleasant nature than when you look at her you simply want to smile. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, flea’d, wormed, veterinary health checked and assessed. Maisie is available for rehoming subject to a satisfactory homecheck and a minimum donation of £150.

Please meet beautiful Beans. Beans is an approximately 7 month old Collie cross Retriever puppy who was abandoned on the streets of Romania with this brother and sister. Beans has been vaccinated and microchipped and will need to be neutered as part of his adoption agreement once he is old enough. He also has a pet passport. Beans is in foster in Essex.
Here’s what his foster mum says about him –
Well what can I tell you about Bean’s – since he has arrived here in foster he has come on leaps and bounds he is very shy at first till he gets to know you but once he does he certainly loves you. Bean’s listens to everything going on around him and watches and takes things in. He is crate trained and house trained and has slept very well. He would thrive on some reward based training and he will ask to go out to the toilet. When out and about Bean’s is shy to start with then he comes out of his shell and will ponder about sniffing and learning new things. He walks lovely on the lead , sometimes when he is worried he will bark at things but with a little training and learning that not all new things are scary he will over come this.
Bean’s would be love to live with a nice older dog that can help show him the world is not such a scary place and keep him company as he loves the company of other dogs, he does like cats in the house and is fine with a dog savvy cat but if tempted he will chase in the garden but he is still very young and this would be easy to train him not to do. Beans can live with older children, confident cats and he absolutely must be rehomed where there is already a resident dog for play and company
If you can offer Beans a place in your heart and your home, please fill in the pre adoption form on our website  www.sedogrescue.co.uk.READ MORE ABOUT THIS DOG...
Please meet super Snowy! Snowy is an approximately 2 years old Retriever Cross who was a street dog in Romania, she has been bought to the UK to give her the best chance of finding a family of her own. She loves people but is shy at first, until a few days ago she had not been walked on a lead or been inside a house so needs help learning about these new situations. For this reason she will need to live with another dog of similar size who can be a good role model to her and be company for her. Snowy is good with cats, chickens & ducks but will bark at horses as she doesn’t know what they are! Snowy can live with children 6 years plus, she has been neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and has a pet passport. This girl is looking for a kind and caring home that will help her when she is unsure of scary situations.
What her fosterer says about her:
‘Snowy is such a sweetheart who is eager to please, she showers you with kisses and cuddles but will jump up while giving her love. She is clean in the house, great with my dogs & cat and very playful, she loves toys! She has done very well learning to walk on a lead but knows exactly how to slip out of her collar and is very wary when you first put her lead on but this is getting better every day. I have not tried her off lead as at the moment I don’t think she’d come back but I think this will come with time. She visited the groomers and was perfectly behaved. She is used to going in a crate and will sleep quietly but also loves to sleep on the floor in our bedroom right next to me.
If you would like to offer beautiful Snowy a place in your heart and home please visit our website  www.sedogrescue.co.uk and fill in our pre-adoption form, we will be in touch!READ MORE ABOUT THIS DOG...

Snowy has been in the Radauti shelter for a year now, probably abandoned on the streets, left to starve to death, fight for food, risk being beaten tortured or even killed for money. The shelter is no place for these dogs as the volunteers have so little time and resources to do what is needed.
Snowy is a little princess, gets on well with every one including other dogs, but a little submissive around the more dominant dogs. She deserves the chance of a proper home. Snowy will be fully vaccinated, spayed, chipped and have a pass port ready to travel.READ MORE ABOUT THIS DOG...
