Saluki Cross
Legs – 2 year old male Saluki Cross
Legs is a 2 year old male Saluki Cross who is based in Hornchurch, Essex. We think Legs may have been abused as shows nervous aggressiveness of certain people and items such as sticks etc when on walks. He is happier off the lead but will have to be muzzled. He is also nervous at night barking at noises however sleeps soundly in his crate. A complete contrast when secure in the house.

A lovely sensitive gentle soul with a huge character. He has a habit of dragging towels from the bathroom into his bed and also dragging shopping bags around. He is not destructive he just likes moving things! Legs is very guarding of the house however, once people are inside he is straight onto his back next to them for a tickle. We would recommend children over 12 and household that isn’t too busy or where people will be responsible with regards to his guarding of the door. Also a large garden would be preferable for his circle runs! Legs does not like too much exercise – he will run in a large circle about 4 times extremely fast and then lays down!

Sylvester is a 2-3 year old Collie cross Saluki who came into our care from a stray pound environment. He is currently in a foster home with a male lurcher and an older terrier cross both of whom he gets on well with. Sylvester has proved so far to be good with all other dogs he has met. He is however not cat friendly.

Sylvester has quickly picked up housetraining and has been fine to be left in the company of the other dogs when his carers are out and about. He travels well and walks well on the lead. Sylvester is going to be a fabulous all round dog, he loves to have a loon about and stretch his legs but will definitely need a home with the patience to put into place his recall work due to having the saluki gene.
Sylvester is vaccinated, kennel cough vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped and neutered. He is based in Staffs.

He has lived with another dog and seems OK with most other dogs. He is not cat friendly though. He is about 28-29 inches to the shoulder. Billy is a sweet 2 year old Whippet cross Saluki he loves other dogs and enjoys energetic play. In the house Billy is quiet and likes his bed and is happy to spend time in it after a good walk.

Billy is typical of his breed and can be distracted his recall requires a little fine tuning, he would like a home where someone is about most of the day, or where he could come out and about with you. He is house trained, vaccinated, microhipped, castrated. Could you give this lovely boy his forever home.

Reece – 3 year old male Saluki Cross
Reece is a 3 year old Saluki cross who came into our care just over a year ago suffering with the most dreadful case of demodectic mange we had ever seen. The mange had been going on for so long that it had literally eaten into the depths of his skin. We have kept Reece with us until we are absolutely sure that his skin has settled down and had chance to recover fully. He had a couple of flare ups when we thought he was ready but now its settled fully so he is desperate finally for a home to call his own.

(Reece when he first arrived)
Reece is a beautiful boy who was terrible on lead when he first came to us, this has settled down now and as long as you are consistent with him he walks well. He is not a suitable off leader as he is another who has proved to have selective recall and swans off into the distance. In time though worked on in a safe enclosed environment this may improve. Reece is clean in his kennel and not destructive; he travels well and has been lovely with both the people and other dogs at the kennels. We feel Reece would be best in an environment with someone around more and a female dog as a companion as he loves company and is desperate to play. Reece is not cat friendly.

As Reece is still in kennels we are keen to find a foster or forever home for him as soon as possible. If someone is interested in adopting Reece we would be willing to do this on a foster with view to keep basis where full support and advice will be on hand from the rescue.

Reece is vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped and castrated. Reece is currently in kennels in Staffordshire.

Nico is a 4 year old male Saluki Cross who recently joined us from a stray pound situation once his time was up. He is a wonderful boy who is relieving a puppyhood he possibly never had. He is currently in foster with two older male lurchers and a younger female lurcher all of whom he gets on well with. Nico is a complete clown, a real cuddle monster and just an all round cheeky, fun, playful loving dog.

Nico’s foster carers work full time coming home at lunchtime and with the company of the other dogs he settles fine and is clean, the only couple of accidents he has had have been directly after he has eaten as he needs to go straight out. He also travels well and settles easily in the car. Out on lead Nico walks well in the main, he can be a little lungy at time when he see’s small dogs BUT a firm no soon settles him down. He would be better homed with a similar sized dog and would love a playful female to live alongside.
Whoever offers Nico a home is going to have a fabulous family pet and many hours of amusement as he really is such a babe. Nico is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, treated for parasites, microchipped and castrated. Currently in foster care in Staffordshire
For more information or to offer Nico a home call Lisa on 01782 544728 or Liz on 01473 623343.
14Oct2009 | Greyhound Gap | READ MORESprig – 18 month old male Greyhound Cross Saluki
Sprig is around 18 months old and we think Saluki cross Greyhound.

Sprig is a fabulous cheeky Lurcher boy who should have possibly been called Spring! He loves everybody and everything out on his walks and also enjoys a good zoom around in the kennels paddock where he is proving he has the potential for a good recall. Off lead Sprig runs nicely with the other bigger hounds but at first was a little pushy with the little ones. However, we have run him with a few little ones who will stand their ground and Sprig is now learning to be polite.
Sprig is NOT cat friendly. He is clean in his kennels and travels well. Although Sprig may have the potential to be an only dog if someone was home most of the time we do feel he would be happy with a female companion; someone with a playful nature who would enjoy a good game and a good run out
and about.
Sprig is vaccinated, vaccinated for kennel cough, de flead, microchipped and has been neutered.
Sprig is in kennels in Staffordshire.
As Sprig is currently in the kennels we would be willing to assess potential parties on a foster view to keep basis. Please call us for more details For more information on Sprig please call Lisa on 01782 544728 or Liz on 01473 623343.
