Nellie – 4 year old female German Shepherd Dog

Nellie is around 4 years old, is a lovely girl and is very friendly. She is keen to meet everyone and appears to be a kind, soft girl. She isn’t a large German Shepherd and is a manageable size. Her coat was in rather a state when she came in, but after a trip to the groomers she looks absolutely tip-top and must feel lots better too!

Nellie will need a home where she has human company for at least half the day please, where she will get 2 nice countryside/beach walks every day and where she can romp in your secure, enclosed garden.Nellie will be spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and can be rehomed outside of the county subject to a successful homecheck. She may be able to live with another dog, can live with older children and could possibly live with a cat.

Nellie so needs a home of her own and her own special people/family. No dog wants to be in kennels, they just want to be with you and Nellie is no different. Please get in touch with us as soon as possible if you think you can offer Nellie the loving, stable home she so needs and deserves, thank you.

Mia – 2 year old female Cross-Breed

Mia is a 2 years old, medium size female dog, who got hit by a car in the autumn of 2011. She had surgery to fix her pelvis and now she’s OK, running and feeling good, just like any able bodied dog.

She tends to be jealous of other dogs, trying to get all the attention for herself, so she’s becoming a little aggressive towards them sometimes. This is why we are looking for a special forever home where she would be able to get all the attention, so only her being the special furry angel of the house.

She shows no aggression to humans, she’s playful and affectionate. She’s about 45 cm high.

Daisy – 7 month old female German Shepherd Cross

Daisy is a 7 months old female, German Shepherd Cross,. Playfull , loving, fully vaccinated and neutered, about 15 kilos, 45 cm high, 60 cm long. When she was just a puppy, living on the streets with her mum and brothers, other dogs attacked them in a fight for food and Daisy was bitten on the back leg.

Because she was so little she couldn’t have surgery and later on the leg couldn’t be operated, because the doctors said they can’t do anything to improve the condition of the leg. She is using the leg a little more each day and doesnt let this get her down. She enjoys running around just like any other pup her age.

She’s limping when she gets too tired after running around a bit too much so her future owners need to be aware of this so they dont expect too much, too soon from her, but like so many dogs we rescue just like Daisy, we have found a loving home, good nutrition and a little patience helps these little doggies heal in so many ways.

Babe – 2-3 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Please meet babe the babe! Babe is a stunning black and white staffordshire bull terrier who has the temperament to match his good looks! Babe found himself on death row in the pound after being picked up as a stray. Babe is a petite staffy who loves people and is currently in a foster home with children in Swanley, Kent. He has mixed well with the other dogs at the sanctuary but his Fosterer feels he would benefit from more interactions with other dogs. Babe couldn’t live with cats and could live with children aged 6 and over. He has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Here’s what his foster mum says about him.

Babe is a lovely boy, he loves cuddles, and belly rubs, and in return he gives back lots of love. He is very friendly towards people, he gets very excited at first (jumps up) but once he calms down (after a few minutes) he submits to a belly rub, although he does not jump up at our 6 year old! He is great with both our boys aged 14 and 6. He is very gentle when taking food, he doesn’t snatch, and he usually gives you his paw. He knows the commands Sit, Paw and Wait.

Babe is very clean in the house, he sits by the back door when he wants to go out, and scratches when he wants to come in. He loves to play with tug toys, and hard rubber balls. He loves going for a walk in the park, but his recall is not that great, he walks well on the extendable lead, and will only pull slightly until he reaches the park! He gets quite anxious on car journeys, although he has improved and will actually jump into the back now. He can be left for a few hours. Babe is a lovely lovely lad who has so much love to give.

If you can offer this fantastic dog a forever home where he will be lavished with belly runs a d cuddles, he will give you all his love in return!

Lulu – 7 month old female Labrador cross Whippet

Please meet Lulu. Lulu is a an approximately 7 month old black lab cross whippet. She is very petite and much smaller than a typical Labrador. Lulu came to us after finding herself on death row at the pound as a stray and she is an absolute bundle of joy! Lulu is great with other dogs but gets worried if they are too boisterous. She is young enough to be introduced to cats if the cats are dog savvy. She is a bouncy girl who loves to play so will need a home with children aged 8 and over. She will need a home with another dog for her to play with and where there is someone at home for a good part of the day.

Lulu is currently in season and so will not be ready for homing for a couple of weeks, and she will need to be neutered in three months time in her new home as part of the adoption agreement.

If you are looking for a fun loving companion, lulu could be the puppy for you! She will be vaccinated and microchipped before leaving for her new home.

Tali – 4 year old female Siberian Husky

Hello, my name is Tali. I’m a four year old female Siberian Husky. I arrived at The Mayhew after being found abandoned on the streets of London. I am a very friendly and sweet natured girl. I’m toilet trained, I know the usual commands which I respond well to, I walk nicely on my lead and I travel well in the car. I get along well with strangers and I always have a waggy tail for people I know.

I also get along well with other dogs. I’m not overly keen on being left on my own and I have been known to bark and howl for the first few mintues when left home alone. I’ll play with toys if encouraged but I’d much rather be cuddling up to you for attention. I am now looking for a forever home with someone who has owned dogs before and has researched my breed type. I would happily live with sensible teenagers and I could live with another dog providing we’re the right match but no cats please.

I wouldn’t be suitable to live in a flat and I will need a home where there is somebody around for most of the day. My new owners will be expected to provide me with a minimum of one hour of off lead exercise in the park every day. If you’re interested in adopting me you will need to be fully prepared for the hard work and long-term commitment involved in caring for a dog, you will be taking on an eleven year commitment, which must not be taken lightly.

I hope to see you soon

Tali

Marni – 8 year old female English Springer Spaniel

This stunning Teddy-bear of a boy is our Marni; who although is getting on a bit, likes his walks and maybe could do with losing a few pounds. Marni is vaccinated, house-trained and well behaved. Marni had been with a family since he was a puppy until recently so would be suited to older children and most households. Marni mixes well with other dogs, hardly noticing they are there, loves his cuddles and is very friendly to both familiar and unknown visitors.

Being a big softie, makes Marni great to exercise as he keeps a rhythmic pace and is happy to walk with his mates or just a human companion for company; always responsive will all people who are fortunate enough to come his way. Marni is just a pleasure to be with, is obedient and has a truly balanced temperament. His natural handsomeness is only outshone by his matching personality as he is placid and tolerant making him a true gent indeed.

Marni is simply a people-loving dog who craves to find his place in the world once more with those who will cherish him; can you offer this fine lad a permanent pad? Situated South East of England, Hertfordshire.

Belle – 12 year old female Collie Cross

Belle is a 12 year old gentle lady who has been dumped in the pound in her latter years. She is a good old fashioned mongrel but looks to have some collie in her. She has had a good wash and brush up and is settling in her foster home. Her mouth is so sore, and she will be receiving dental treatment via Rain Rescue prior to rehoming.

We are looking for a wonderful home for this beautiful girl who did not deserve to be abandoned in the pound, or left in such a poor state. The cost of the dental treatment comes from donations, which are always gratefully received.
