Izzy – 2 year old female Labrador cross Sharpei
Izzy is one of our ‘Twelve dogs of christmas’ which are 12 dogs within our sanctuary whom we feel are a priority in terms of finding them new homes…either because they are older, nervous or struggling in kennels, or simply that they have been waiting too long.
Izzy is a truly gorgeous and loving girl who thinks everyone and everything was put on this earth for her to love and play with! Izzy has been here for six months, and we are completely amazed that she is still with us. We know for sure that whoever comes to meet her will fall in love with this fun and charming girl. Izzy is a 2 year old Labrador cross Sharpei. She has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Hi, I’m Izzy! I’m not really sure why I’m here and looking for a new home. I was in a home and I had given birth to my beautiful babies, then one day I was taken in the car and my owner drove to the police station and opened the door and threw me into the reception and then ran off. I don’t know where he went, or why he didn’t come back for me. I miss my babies…
The people here have all been lovely to me, but I long for my forever home more than anything. I love people, children and other dogs. I would love a home with another dog to play with, I would play all day if I could! After I had been neutered, I went to a lovely ladies house for a few days whilst I recovered, and she kept telling me what a good girl I was for going to the toilet in the garden and also for not chewing up her stuff!
I’m a really good girl off my lead, and I come back when I’m called. I don’t guard my food, in fact the girls here call me ‘perfect izzy’ because I try so hard to please everyone. I am quite strong on the lead at first but then I’m just excited to go out! With proper exercise each day(there are never enough walkers here unfortunately) and a little bit of lead training, i wouldn’t pull anymore.
I am desperate to love and be loved, I just wish someone would give me a chance to show them what a wonderful addition to their family I would be….
If you can offer Izzy, or any of our dogs, a place in your heart and your home, please call Kymm on 07886 620009 or email southeastdogrescue@hotmail.com Izzy will need to live with another dog for company and a playmate and can live with children aged 6 plus. Izzy can be tested with cats if needed.
We can’t think of a better start to the year than for Izzy to find the forever home she has been patiently waiting for. Please make 2012 the year that Izzy’s future changes for the better…..

22Nov2011 | South East Dog Rescue | READ MORETheo – 2 1/2 year old male Shar-Pei Cross
Please meet Theo! Theo is a 2 1/2 year old sharpie cross who came into rescue after his family moved into a property where they could not take pets. Theo is a super, loving, gorgeous dog who can be a little nervous of new people but bonds quickly and is a faithful and loyal companion.
Theo is great with other dogs and is in a foster home with dogs and many cats. He will occasionally chase cats, so a home with a dog savvy cat or a home without cats would be best. Theo has mixed with young children but not lived with them, so he will need a home with older children (14 plus) only.
Theo is great with our other dogs, chickens and ducks and loves to be with people. He does get worried when left alone so will only be rehomed where there is at least one resident dog and where someone is at home for most of the day. He has been clean in the house in his foster home and will need to sleep in the bedroom in his new home, at least in the beginning.
South east dog rescue offers full back up including behavioral advice for all of their dogs. Theo has been neutered, vaccinated, wormed, deflead and microchipped.
If you are looking for a lovable, dog and people friendly pooch for which to share your life with….look no further! Theo is waiting for you….

Staffies are lovely dogs who suffer from a bad reputation they do not deserve. In June, ADM have decided to help promote this fantastic breed by rehoming them to loving homes for a donation of your choice (minimum of £50). Our dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered and carefully assessed so we will only match you with the right dog for your household. Staffies love children, they are enthusiastic and loyal companions and they make fantastic family dogs. To know more about them, read our ‘Staffie Myths’ page: alldogsmatter.co.uk/

8Jun2011 | All Dogs Matter London | READ MOREBenji – 2 year old male Shar-Pei Cross
Benji is a 2 year old Shar Pei cross who came to the rescue after nipping the child he lived with. The child was playing on a trampoline whilst throwing a ball and Benji got somewhat over excited in this chaotic situation. Benji took a while to settle into the rescue. We find Shar Pei types struggle in kennels to begin with as they don’t like change. Once Benji had settled we saw a massive change in his personality. He went from an unsure, nervous dog to a lively, affectionate boy. After several months he decided he loved toys and now bounces around our field with his ball, play bowing at us and asking for a cuddle on the bench.
Benji is fine with other dogs and did live with a cat in his previous home. As with most Shar Pei types he can be hand shy to begin with and will take a little time to get to know a potential new home. With a few walks and treats he can get to know people. We would like an adult only home for Benji, somebody patient and commited to spending a little time getting to know him. Now he is settled the kennel staff can see what a great dog he is and he has the potential to make a wonderful friend for the right home. If you feel you could offer Benji a loving home please contact Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool on 0151 931 1604.
