Shar-Pei Cross
Benji – 2 year old male Shar-Pei Cross
Benji is a 2 year old Shar Pei cross who came to the rescue after nipping the child he lived with. The child was playing on a trampoline whilst throwing a ball and Benji got somewhat over excited in this chaotic situation. Benji took a while to settle into the rescue. We find Shar Pei types struggle in kennels to begin with as they don’t like change. Once Benji had settled we saw a massive change in his personality. He went from an unsure, nervous dog to a lively, affectionate boy. After several months he decided he loved toys and now bounces around our field with his ball, play bowing at us and asking for a cuddle on the bench.
Benji is fine with other dogs and did live with a cat in his previous home. As with most Shar Pei types he can be hand shy to begin with and will take a little time to get to know a potential new home. With a few walks and treats he can get to know people. We would like an adult only home for Benji, somebody patient and commited to spending a little time getting to know him. Now he is settled the kennel staff can see what a great dog he is and he has the potential to make a wonderful friend for the right home. If you feel you could offer Benji a loving home please contact Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool on 0151 931 1604.
