Dream – 1 year old female Shar-Pei

Dream is one of our ‘Twelve dogs of christmas’ which are 12 dogs within our sanctuary whom we feel are a priority in terms of finding them new homes…either because they are older, nervous or struggling in kennels, or simply that they have been waiting too long. Dream really is a dream! She adores people and mixes well with other dogs. She came to us completely emaciated and had clearly been abused at the hands of her previous owners. Despite this she continues to greet everyone she meets as an old friend, and will roll over for belly rubs and cover you with kisses.

Dream is an approximately year old Sharpei cross. She has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Hey there, I’m Dream and my one wish was a home for Christmas. Sadly this didn’t happen and I’m still here at the kennels…wishing and hoping that my new family is just around the corner.

My last owners were very cruel to me but I loved them anyway, and it hasn’t put me off humans at all. I still greet everyone as though they are a long lost friend and love to be fussed and cuddles. I have many other doggy friends here, some that I kennel share with, and I haven’t met a dog here yet that I don’t like.

I’m clean in my kennel and i haven’t destroyed my bed or my toys…. I just hope that someone, somewhere will be willing to take a chance on me, a chance to let me prove that dogs in rescue aren’t ‘bad’ but that sometimes we are let down by those who should be protecting us and find ourselves homeless and without love.

If you can offer Dream, or any of our dogs, a place in your heart and your home, please call Kymm on 07886 620009 or email jodiesedr@hotmail.com Dream could live with another dog. She can be cat tested if needed and can live with children aged ten plus.

We can’t think of a better start to the year than for Dream to find the forever home she has been patiently waiting for. Please make 2012 the year that Dreams future changes for the better…..

Pud – 2 year old male Shar-Pei

Pud is a 2 year old Shar Pei cross. If you have read Bella’s thread, you will know that Pud is Bella’s brother. Pud has been with us since October 2010 and can be a little standoffish, until he knows you are a friend and not foe. He get’s his confidence from Bella, so if she is being fussed, then he will come to be fussed also. Pud is also strong on the lead, so will benifit from further training.

Bella – 2 year old female Shar-Pei

Bella is a 2 year old cross Shar Pei, who has came into the rescue with her brother Bud in October 2010. Bella has already had 2 litters of pup’s, the last one being just a few months ago, but worse still, she was mated with her brother Bud, on both occasions.

Bella came in very underweight, but as you can imagine, she has now put on weight, and been spayed. No more pup’s for this girl. She has a really lovely temprement, and has lived with kid’s in the past, so will make an ideal family pet. She will pull on the lead a little, so will need some extra training.

Tilly – 2 year old female Shar-Pei

Tilly is a 2 year old Shar Pei who is a beautiful girl and one of the kennel staff’s favourites! Sadly for Tilly she has been shoved from piller to post in her 2 years of life. She now needs to find a mum and dad that will love her and commit to her forever. Tilly can be very shy when meeting strangers. Like most Shar Pei’s she can be very hand shy upon meeting new people, but please don’t let this put you off! Tilly only needs to meet somebody a few times before her adorable personality comes out and she’ll lick you all over!

http://www.imagepuppy.com/shared/11ac58d3ed91fa2b3b74b98ed06cb837.JPG

She is such a loyal little girl, once she knows you she is your best friend, and is one of the most affectionate dogs we have. As she is shy to begin with we would like an adult only home for her. She doesn’t like other dogs as she was not socialised as a young girl, unfortunately her previous owner didn’t walk her so strictly speaking it is not Tilly’s fault she doesnt like other dogs! We urge people not to be put off by this as Tilly will make the most wonderful companion, she just needs to be walked at quiet times or in quiet areas.

Tilly has not had the best start in life so please give her the chance she deserves! If you think you can offer Tilly a loving home please contact Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool on 0151 931 1604.

Bailey – 5 year old male Shar-Pei

Bailey is a 5 year old Shar-pei boy, who came into our care with his brother Buster, after a change in his owners circumstances. Meet Bailey. He is an excitable lad who loves to be the centre of attention! He is very typical of the breed and takes his time to get to know new people. He is a little head shy, but does gradually come around the more he knows you. He can try to be a little bossy, and does not like other dogs so is going to need to be the only pet in the house. He is prone to sore skin, which can be common with the breed, so is going to need medicated baths as and when needed to keep this under control.

Bailey needs an owner with previous experience of Shar-pei’s, and will need a home with no children. In the right hands and with some further training, Bailey will make a great companion. please call 07743 773871 for more info.

Maisie – 1 year old female Shar-Pei

Maisie just a 1 year girl, will be spayed this coming week. She has lived in a high rise flat with a young family and clearly now needs a new home, which will better meet her needs. She has got on with a couple of dogs she has known but a dog training school is advisable, in the future.

She is fine with children of 1 year and upwards, however as she needs training and attention, being bouncy and excitable, small children are not advised except as supervised visitors. She pulls slightly from lack of proper training and is probably not suitable with a cat. It would be good to research this breed before hand, as they are often loving but stubborn. She has been off leash and was fine. She has no skin problems associated with the breed after a vet check.

She is currently with Animal Action Trust Essex More later. 01277 634406
