Gismo – 6 month old male Shih Tzu cross Pug

This is Gismo is a very cute 6 month old male Shih Tzu cross Pug puppy, but don’t be fooled by his ‘butter wouldn’t melt’ face. He did not receive any training when he was younger, so is currently very excitable and has picked up some bad habits, so he is looking for an owner who is willing to go back to square one and give him the time and training he needs.

Gismo loves people and when he calms down with training will make a great family pet. He will be fully vaccinated, microchipped and had worming and de-flea treatment.

Irish – 4 year old female Jack Russell Terrier cross Shih Tzu

Homing Requirements: Iris needs a terrier home who are happy to offer her the love and attention she so responds to. She is Jack Russell first and Shih Tzu second. Proven with young children. Care over her recall; off-lead only in safe areas and after settlement/bonding afterall she is a terrier!

Her Story: Iris was found stray in Wales in a dreadful state, needing emergency grooming and the shaving off of her coat. We took her in to kennels but she wasn’t well so she went into foster with small furries, cats and another dogs. She won through but her fosterer offered her skills in settling her with her many animals. Homed for 2 years as an only dog but due to a change in family circumstances she has come back to us.

Advert: Iris is the sparkle in our eyes! In her 4 years she hasn’t had the stability she should. She finds herself in boarding kennels for the second time, yet a sweeter dog you couldn’t wish to meet. She isn’t a ‘non dog’ but has lots of bounce and character. Her housetraining is fine with attention especially if it is raining outside! We suspect she started out in life in a flat or being left long periods hence her toilet training was fragile if left long periods or without free access to a garden. She loves toys and play. She meets dogs well and is keen on her lead but manageable. Proven with very young children.

Iris is such a pretty Jack Russell cross. She needs regular glooming and would love to be pampered. She needs a good quality diet with a regular routine to build her skills and support her settling. She could easily be at the heart of a family but needs a family with heart and for her to be the centre of their universe.

Skip – 9 year old male Shih Tzu Cross

Skip is an extremely cute little dog. We believe he is a Shih Tzu or Lhasa crossed with other breeds. He could possibly have some poodle in him too. Skip is a very sweet little man who has had a lot of changes to cope with recently and is currently in kennels where he isn’t coping well at all. He enjoys going for walks and then coming home and having cuddles.

You could say he’s a bit of a lap dog and would make a lovely companion. He’s a bit of a scaredy cat (or dog!) when it comes to other dogs and would love a lap to snuggle into instead. Skip is looking for a quiet home with understanding new owners who will give him the time and space he needs to settle in.

Sam – 1 year old male Shih Tzu cross Jack Russell Terrier

Sam is a shih-tzu cross jack russell, just under a year old. He’s a friendly and enthusiastic little dog, who loves to meet visitors and play. Unfortunately due to his owner being in a wheelchair his exercise and training have been very restricted, which is why he needs a new home. His ideal new home would be with someone experienced in ‘small dogs with big personalities!’, to help him learn everything he hasn’t yet been taught, as he can be a bit mouthy and excitable due to his age and boredom. He has been around children of various ages but as he is an active young dog he would be best suited to a home with older children. He hasn’t had a lot of experience around other dogs as he’s currently only walked about once a fortnight, although he has stayed at a house with another dog temporarily without any problems, apart from constantly wanting to play!

Sam knows some very basic commands so we think he would be very trainable and would love an active home to keep him busy. He sleeps alone downstairs without any problems and is used to being left alone for a couple of hours at a time.

Sam would benefit from some lead training as he gets so excited going out and has never been shown how to walk calmly. We would love to find the right home for Sam soon as he seems to be getting more frustrated and bored with his current routine and his wheelchair bound owner is struggling to cope.
