Reggie is a male Staffordshire Bull Terrier who is our most recent admission, so we are still finding out more about him each day. So far we know that he is house trained and that he seems fine with other dogs. He has been for walks in the park with a couple of our female dogs and has been well behaved towards them and he has tended to not take much interest of other dogs in the park.

He is a sweet boy who isn’t too over excitable or boisterous and should be quite responsive to training.

Hi, I’m Samson. I haven’t always been this way it wasn’t my fault. I don’t see myself any different, but it is your kind that judges me. I was involved in a RTA (Road Traffic Accident), and I underwent an operation that meant losing my hind leg. It wasn’t painful as such. They put me under anesthetic so I would feel no further discomfort. I’m used to dealing with pain, as my litter mates always played hard, but when I work up from my operation, experienced a different kind of pain…

My owners were nowhere to be seen. Maybe they hadn’t located me, or they got caught in traffic, or what if they couldn’t face seeing me this way? Would they be so heartless to abandon me? You hear of these things called pounds, (a place humans put unwanted dogs), but I don’t think they are real.

Well, let me tell you… they are real. I was placed in one after my operation, and it’s a soul-destroying environment. From what I’ve gathered, when you come into these places, you are given only so long to live. Most of the inmates I’ve seen have never left. It’s almost like a prison for my kind. If your humans don’t come to get you, or a dog rescue can’t offer you a rescue space, you die!

I didn’t want to die there, not after I’d survived that RTA. I had to believe I was still alive for some reason. Maybe my human family were coming to get me. Maybe they had managed to locate me, and everything was going to be OK. Unfortunately. They never came. My time was up, and I was being removed. I thought that was it…But, like a twist in a Steven Spielberg story, I was saved by a rescue!

Now, currently living with 15 other dogs, from Chihuahuas, to 16 stone English Mastiffs, 7 cats, Chickens, Horses, and young toddlers, I’m doing great! I love everybody and everything, I’m so thankful. The others don’t make fun of me, or bully me just because I have 3 legs, although they did nickname me Trio (but I’ve changed my name to Samson). I shocked them when I chased them around the garden, but indeed I became a cropper when I slipped over the banana skin they had left me. I just love life, and have so many thanks to give to the humans that saved me. I’m not into confrontation I just like to be warm and comfortable. The food is great here, the people and animals are so friendly, and it really helps me to relax.

But, I know I can’t relax for too long, as I now need to find a new home and family, to call my own. Don’t let my misfortune put you off. I’m not worried about it, so why should you? If you are going to rescue a dog, then why not do just that? Help a dog that is really in need of love. Help a case, that otherwise would be booked to die for no reason.

You’ve read my story, and you know why I’m here. I can’t blame my previous owners maybe they just panicked or couldn’t cope. For one, they are only human. So go on, pick up the dog and bone, and give the rescue a ring. Or, if you’re hi-tech and with it, send an email, and if they are not taking me and the gang out for an afternoon stroll, they will call you back as soon as they can.

Thank you

They are the best of friends and it is only through a breakdown in the owners relationship that has caused them to be in need of homing again. Deano (aged 3 years) is a wonderful lad. Kirby, (4 years old), needs careful handling and to know who is in control. It would be wonderful if these friends could be homed together, but not everyone is prepared to take on two dogs and they can actually be homed individually. Kirby is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Deano is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross.

She will need to be given a basic training course. Taz will need a secure garden with exit management to ensure she is retained safely in her home boundaries. Not for cats or small furries

Her Story: Taz was found stray over Christmas. She is now spayed and will go through a full vax. course.

Advert: Taz is around 10 months old, is in good health but is being treated for poor fur condition. Taz has everything in front of her. She is joyful and receptive in nature and she is riding out her rescue phase with ease. Any change is looked upon as an opportunity. Her fluency means she can move through into a complex home and settle with reassurance and guidance.

Taz is white with brindle patches, tallish and graceful. She stands alert and captures all hearts. She sees all and rejoices in ‘being’. Our puppy lady is coming to terms with what life has on offer and working out just how she will embrace and manage it all.
