Eamon and Bridget- 6 week old male and female Cross-Breeds

Eamon, Bridget are 6 week old male and female Cross-Breed puppies. These two pups came into us as an unsold litter. Their mum is a Staffordshire bull terrier cross; father completely unknown!

(Eamon and Bridget)

They are all great with kids, other dogs and they can live with cats. They are all undergoing vaccinations. They must be micro-chipped and neutered when old enough at the new owners’ expense.

Eamon

Each new owner needs to be home most of the day and must be prepared to take the puppies to training classes. Eamon is a lovely dark brindle colour and is an absolute sweetheart. He loves to play but adores cuddles even more!

Bridget

Bridget is a lighter brindle colour who is happy, healthy, playful and cuddly! These two are on foster in Derby, but we re-home across the UK.

*Update 20/03/10*

Eamon and  Bridget are still looking for homes. Their two litter mates have found homes and now it’s their turn. Please get in touch if you can offer them a forever home.

Max – 6 month old male Cross-Breed

Max is a very handsome 6 month old crossbreed boy. He is great fun! He is bouncy and lively and would make a great family dog. We expect that he would be good with a confident cat who would tolerate his bouncing.

Max is a good traveller, is good on lead and seems to be housetrained – he is not having any accidents overnight. He loves toys and likes to play with our other dogs. Max would possibly enjoy agility or flyball as he is a great jumper!

Apollo – 1-2 year old male Cross-Breed

Apollo is a large sized, long haired very handsome Cross-Breed boy. People friendly and seems great with dogs. Really easy going, a big, gentle cuddly bear!!

Not heavily tested with cats though. Would suit most homes with space for a large dog although children must be 12 or older.

Apollo walks well on the lead, but has not been tested off lead as yet. Apollo is a fantastic dog to have around, he learns quickly and wants to please. This lad will be a pleasure to train, and will be a lovely addition to the family!

*Update from foster family*

Apollo is a very playful energetic young dog in a powerful body, he has been very social and tolerant with my 2 female dogs but not so good with male dogs. This may be due to being in a home with 2 female dogs or just his general stress at this time. He has a mass of energy and loves to run up and down the garden jumping and leaping as he goes (this is beautiful to see). He is very strong and a bit clumsy but just wants to run, play and explore.

He needs some extra training on the lead but to be honest we probably needed more training than he does because he has been very responsive to close right hand walking, we have been stopping when he pulls. We have found no response to calling his name but “come on boy” and finger clicking have been working with a small treat. He will sit with a gentle push on his bottom and a treat. He has responded to all that has been asked of him, he will try everything to see if he is allowed to chew it but a sharp no always stops him. He has an extra long lead for him to explore in the woods but he wants to be free and will try to escape the lead by jumping and leaping…… in all these things he has responded well to commands. We feel he is looking for a strong pack leader, strong in strength to help him learn and strong in leadership to be devoted too.

We have cats that are not always around but we carry them through the house and they have been passed over Apollo’s head without him showing much interest. But he has chased them in the garden when the other dogs have, so i cant say that he is cat tolerant.

He has been around children and the only danger he is is obviosly his size, his no sense of direction and wanting to be 1st in the queue for playing.

Ian has taught him to wait for his food and he is begining to stand back while i give the other dogs a treat.

He needs someone totally devoted to him not because he is bad but because he is so very very good and beautiful, he has no major problems that we can see that training and love wont sort out.

He is very affectionate, loves cuddles and loves being involved in all that is going on…and he snores.
Currently in foster in the Cambridgeshire area.

Nipper – 10 year old male Cross-Breed

Nipper is a 10 year old Cross-Breed male. He was brought into us as his owner has a terminal illness and could no longer care for him. He had owned Nipper from a pup and sadly being separated from his owner has affected Nipper, who was very fearful of anyone who approached him. In the short time he has been with us, he has come a long way. He now adores all the staff and even has a couple of kennel pals.

Nipper is very playful and puppy like, he loves his walks and is young at heart. He is okay with other dogs once he knows them but he really needs a home on his own with no other animals. He knows basic commands and is very loyal and loving. Please come and see me as my picture does not do me justice.

Bramble – 12 week old male Cross-Breed

Bramble is a 12 week old black and brindle male Cross-Breed. He was handed into us as a stray who was underweight and extremely hungry. He is now being fed regular meals, and awaiting a home of his own. His is a typical puppy in that he is full of mischief and wants to be involved in everything that’s going on around him. Like all puppies he will need training and socialisation to ensure he gets the right start in life.

He is good with other dogs, although he needs to be taught some boundaries as sometimes he can get too over excited when playing. Bramble is used to being in a crate and is making excellent progress with his house training, with only the odd accident now. Ideally we are looking for an owner who has had previous experiences in raising a pup and knows all the challenges they may face. We would like his new owners to enrol him in puppy training classes. He will be ok in a household with children over 10 years old. Bramble is fully vaccinated, microchipped, flead and wormed and will be neutered when he is old enough.

Rosie – 3 year old female Cross-Breed

Hi, my name is Rosie , I’m a medium Cross-Breed and am about 3 years old. I have been here at the RSPCA since june 2009. I am quite a shy girl and i’m looking for an extra special home. When I first arrived with the rspca I was totally confused and not used to people at all, but after a lot of love and attention I am now much happier than before.

I was briefly rehomed in November but after just 48 hours in my new home I got a bit scared on my walk and slipped my lead. I was on the run around leeds for 3 weeks right over the bonfire night period, I was so scared and cold! Thankfully lots of people were out looking for me and I was finally caught right in the city centre. I can still be nervous in new environments but since coming back from my escapades I have settled down so much and am now looking for a new home where I can settle in.

I’d rather not live with children as they’re a bit scary for me, and I will need a home where I can get lots of love and where someone has the patience and time to help me gain even more trust in people. I do like other dogs but I can sometimes get a little bossy with them and I’d like a home with a very secure garden so that if something frightens me I’m still safe. I think I would rather stay on my harness on walks for a long time yet as I still find traffic and noises a little worrying but I don’t pull at all.

If you think I’m cute and my big eyes have won you over please call the rspca. Tell them you saw me on this website then they don’t have to tell you my life story again.
