Unknown Cross Medium Size
Casey – 15 year old female Cross-Breed
Casey is a 15 year old medium-sized Crossbreed girl who came into Oldies Club care because her owner was unable to keep her. Casey is in an Oldies Club foster home in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, and is waiting for someone to offer her a permanent home.
Settled quickly: Casey was settled at her foster home within a couple of days.
Likes to have company: Casey has been left alone for up to 2 hours in her foster home. She does whine, but she isn’t destructive. Casey therefore needs a home with someone around for most of the day.
Good with dogs: Casey has got on well with all dogs she has met since being in our care and she is very playful with dogs she meets on walks. She would probably be OK living with another old, calm dog, but she wouldn’t want to live with a lively young dog. We were told that she doesn’t like greyhounds, but she hasn’t met one whilst in foster so we can’t comment further on this.

Doesn’t like cats, but OK with small animals: Casey will bark and lunge at cats she sees on a walk and takes a while to settle after they have gone, so she can’t live with cats. However she has been fine with the birds, guinea pigs and rabbit at her foster home.
Loves children: Casey loves children. She loves to cuddle up with her fosterer’s 6 year old daughter and have tickles. Her foster carer feels that Casey should be fine to live with well-behaved, considerate children aged 4 years and upwards.
Loves long walks: Casey loves her walks and will walk for miles! However, she is deaf so her foster carer has been keeping her on a long flexi-lead. She will recall if you tap your leg, but obviously this won’t work if Casey is facing the other way! And if she saw a cat she would chase it. Casey is fit for her age and would easily manage a 1-hour walk first thing in the morning and then another in the afternoon. But she would be happy with 2 or 3 30-minute walks a day with a longer walk as an occasional treat.

Good in the car: Casey has been fine travelling in the car.
Casey’s favourite pastimes: Casey loves nothing better than to be snuggled up on the settee next to someone, or sitting on their lap! She loves cuddles and tickles. She also enjoys a good sniff around the garden.
Casey’s dislikes: Cats! And possibly greyhounds, but we haven’t witnessed that. She also doesn’t like to be left alone for too long.
Casey’s perfect home: Casey would love a home either with mature owners where someone is at home most of the time and maybe has grandchildren visiting, or with someone who works at home and has children.
Health notes: Casey is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea-treated. She is generally in good health for a 15 year old. She has lost most of her teeth due to gum disease, but manages to eat tinned food OK. She has a fatty lump that the vet is not worried about and has recently had a urine infection that she has been treated for. She is deaf so doesn’t respond to being called but will respond if you tap your leg. She also has cataracts but her sight seems pretty good!

Foster carer’s summary of Casey: “Cuddly; Cheeky; Bouncy; Lovely. She is living here with pet birds, guinea pigs who she has shown no interest in at all, and a pet rabbit who she has become friendly with through the bars of the rabbit run. When left alone, Casey does sing, and can be quite cheeky: I found her up on my dining room table when I came in from shopping one day! She loves to come up onto my bed for cuddles in the morning and at night, but sleeps on her bed in my room. She really is no trouble at all. A very loving affectionate girl who asks no more than a warm comfy lap to snuggle up to.”

Hollie is a lovely young female crossbreed, approximately 12- 18months old who appears to have a lovely temperament, very fussy and affectionate. She seems to get on well with other dogs. She is looking for a home where they would give Hollie some more basic training and the exercise she needs in order for her to mature into a loving, faithful companion as part of someone’s family.
Can you offer Hollie a forever home?

Faith – 4 month old female Cross-Breed
Faith is one of the most affectionate pups I have ever had in my home. She loves her cuddles and having her tummy and back rubbed. She can often be found in your arms with her tummy on display for a gentle rub. She is great with other dogs, very playful and bouncy, so she needs a doggy companion who is still very lively and playful themselves, plus this will give the new owners lots more sleep as they will tire each other out *big smile*
Faith is Deaf but she is already picking up sign language really well, she is getting the hang of house training and has only had the odd accident in the night. She is also getting the practice of lead walking in the house and recall from the garden, all through sign language. She is a great girl and we are seeking the most special home for her where she will be loved and devoted.
She is currently in Burton-on-Trent and if homed within the area we are happy to teach the new owners all the signing skills if they do not already have experience of a deaf dog. She can be homed with children as long as they are kind and dog savvy as she may jump if suddenly approached from behind too fast. The children need to be of an age to understand the signing required or this will confuse her if she is being told to do something verbally, she will not know what is being asked of her.
If you would like to adopt Faith please call Impawtant Pups on 07926 249449 or email impawtantpups@gmail.com for an application form.

Nando – 2 year old male Cross-Breed
Nando is a sprightly young man who has been handed in through no fault of his own, he is starting to settle in to kennel life and is happy to meet people and other dogs on his walk. This boy is housetrained and knows basic commands, he is very people orientated and likes to be fussed and praised. Nando is still a youngster and he really deserves a second chance at having a family for his own.

UPDATE: Nando spent some time in a foster home, he was clean and slept through the night with no issues, he was good with the children and other dogs in his foster home. Nando would like a home with older children teens or no children, he can live with other dogs or as a only dog, he is a quiet boy and would be a great companion. He will need a home who will allow him time to settle.

Sasha – 5-6 year old female Cross-Breed
Sasha is a middle aged crossbreed who came to us as a stray, she has now been at the rescue for over a year as some find her not as attractive as some of our other dogs which we can’t understand as she is gorgeous! She appears to have the look of an English Bull Terrier about her and a character also with similarities to other English Bull Terrier we’ve seen. She’s a lively and very playful lady with a keen interest in chasing balls of any size although with a mischievous reluctance to give them up for you.

She likes a fuss but is more interested in playing ball. Sitting on command and for a treat is fine; recall is not so fine and this will need working on. Sasha can be a big softy at times and when relaxed shows her more gentle side. With other dogs she is generally good as long as they show good manners towards her. All dogs are neutered, fully vaccinated, wormed, flea treated, microchipped and come with one months pet insurance.

Percy, 3 year old male mixed breed. Percy is a lovely young dog who was born in Italy and has come to England in the hope of finding a new home. He has been in this country about 6 months now and has his own passport. Percy will need a home where someone is around most of the time and is prepared to work with him.

Percy has lived outside but is now looking for an indoor home as a pet where he will be loved and spoilt. He may need a little help with his house training but he is always clean in his kennel and is intelligent and a quick learner so it shouldn’t be difficult for him. He has previously enjoyed running so if that is your favourite exercise he would love to go with you!
Percy will need a home without other dogs as he can find them scary and is inclined to bark at them when out. He is not used to cats or children so will not be homed with them. Percy’s ideal home would be with an older family where the children are teenagers or with an active retired couple. As he is very agile, Percy would need a very secure garden with fencing of at least 6 feet high. He is neutered, micro-chipped and fully vaccinated.

Percy is in Charlton, London.

Dylan – 12-18 month old male Cross-Breed
Dylan is a young male crossbreed, approximately 12-18months old, who appears to have a lovely temperament and walks very well on the lead. He’s very affectionate and loves kisses and cuddles. He seems friendly with other dogs and has shared a kennels with Hollie for a while. He is a little wary of strange men this could be due to being thrown out of a car window when he was dumped before we rescued him. Despite this he still seems to travel ok in the car.
