Unknown Cross Small Size
Bobby - 1 year old male Cross-Breed
Bobby is only 1 year old small cross-breed but he has had a very horrid start in life! His first owners husband use to kick him and throw him around the room. Thisill treatment has taken it’s toll on little Bobby, he is very nervous of people he doesn’t know to the point where he will run and hide if approached.

Because of his long coat he will need grooming daily, this proves to be a challenge. He is fine having his face and body brushed, but his belly and back end werea bit matted when he arrived, when we tried grooming those areas he turns to bite, we switched to scissors so the grooming didn’t hurt, but he still reacted in the same way.
He will need to be muzzled whilst being groomed until he learns to trust you. He is not great with other dogs, so we would
like his new home to take Bobby to training classes to help with his socialisation. He will chase cats. Although he is okay with children, due tohis very timid nature Bobby will only be homed with children 10+ who will understand that he has had a very bad start and it will take time beforehe trusts them.
Once Bobby realises he is not going to be hurt, he is a very loving dog, he gives kisses and will sit quietly on your lap for a
fuss. He will need a very understanding home which will take things slowly with him and not be put off by his initial mistrust.
Nelson - 4-5 month old male Cross-Breed
Please meet Nelson, a cross-breed male, approximately 4-5 months old. Black and white in colour and small-medium in size. He is a very friendly, lovely lad who gets on well with other dogs. He is also good with children and with cats, currently in a foster home with all three!

We have neutered, vaccinated and assessed Nelson and so he is now looking for his new forever home. Could that be with you?

Roxy is a 3-4 month old cross-breed female who was found wandering the streets so sadly we have no history on this little puppy, she is a bubby and very confident character who seems to have endless energy. Roxy will need active outdoor loving owners to keep up with her and provide the stimulation she needs on a daily basis, Roxy will get bored easily and needs activities.

Roxy is intelligent but easily distracted, owners will need to be patient and dedicate time to her training and puppy social work, she will need all training from scratch and this includes house training. Roxy will be a rewarding challenge for the experienced dog owner, she is not suitable for the first time dog owner.
Roxy adores other dogs but is non-stop and full on, most dogs will not cope with this constant whirl-wind flying around, she is distracted by dogs and will not listen to people if there are dogs near by! Due to this we feel at this stage Roxy will be better in a home on her own without other dogs.
Once Roxy is fully house trained and settled she could be left for short periods, being a puppy it would be advisable that new owners crate train Roxy to help with this but to also provide a secure area when owners are away from the house for any period. Unfortunately Roxy cannot live with children, ideally an all adult household is needed but teenagers would be considered.
If you feel you can offer this little live wire a new home please contact the rehoming team at Old Windsor on 01784 494443, apply online or email us on bow.rehomers@dogshome.org.

Ollie is a special little cross-breed pup aged approximately 5 months old. He came to the rescue badly abused not sure what had happened to him but whatever it was it wasn’t good. His foster Mum thinks he is a good old Heinz 57 although he has the most unusual tail she has ever seen on a dog it has a perfect black zig zag down it!
He was absolutely terrified of anything and everything. He has made massive progress in the last few weeks. They couldn’t walk him but can now walk him really well on the lead although they do think it will be a long time until he will be able to go off.
He will not be able to be up totally for re-homing for a month or so yet but would like to list him now so any one wanting to give him a home could come and visit him and get to know him. It takes him a while to trust but when he does he is so loving. He is 100% clean in the house. He can still be extremely nervous although this is improving every day.

Ethel is a 7 year old small cross-breed female who came into the shelter in September 2007. She was isolated from life before coming here so needs a quiet home where she can get used to things slowly. She is really sweet but can be fearful so wants an understanding and calm owner who will be kind and patient. No harsh handling.
Build up trust in house and garden before taking for walks – she will not cope. He can be rehomed with children 16 years + and would be best suited as the only pet in the household. She is probably not house-trained and he needs working with to allow him to be left on his own. Nervous dog experience would be recommended for potential new owners.
