Molly – 13 year old female Cross-Breed

Molly is a 13 year old Crossbreed girl who is currently in an Oldies Club foster home in Bracknell, Berkshire. Molly is a very quiet and gentle girl and she needs a new home through no fault of her own. Her previous owner was ill and had to go into care, so Molly was looked after in kennels for a period of time.

Molly took a couple of days to settle in and make herself comfortable and she’s now proving to be a very easy going dog. She doesn’t mind being left alone for reasonable periods of time and makes no fuss about it. She’s very welcoming and always happy to greet new visitors to the house.

Molly takes a mild interest in dogs out of the house. She’ll have a sniff at them, but so far hasn’t been particularly playful with them. She is generally good with other dogs though and her foster mum believes she’d be quite happy with another elderly and quiet dog for company.

Molly hasn’t yet come into close contact with any cats, but she tends to ignore any that pass in the street.

Molly absolutely loves her walks and she never wants to come home! She’s very good on the lead and is currently walked on an extendable one and stops when it reaches it’s full length. Because Molly is hard of hearing she doesn’t have any recall. However, she doesn’t wander too far away and always keeps her eye on you. She can be quite slow to keep up because she’s constantly distracted by all those lovely smells! Molly is very good in the car too, so would always be up for new and exciting walks further afield.
Molly’s favourite pastimes: Walks … and more walks! Molly lives for her walks and if you forget she’ll let you know when it’s walkies time!

Molly’s perfect home is one where she will get at least two good walks every day. She’s a very easy going and loving girl, but she would prefer a home without children. She’s had quite a lot of pain in her back legs from arthritis and is still quite sensitive in that area. If you catch her legs she’ll yelp and grumble at you, so she’d like to find somewhere quiet with adults who will respect her boundaries.

Molly is spayed, vaccinated, wormed and flea-treated. She’s had a couple of teeth removed due to dental decay and has arthritis in her back legs, but is on pain relief for this. Molly also arrived with an ear infection and this is being treated with drops. She is hard of hearing and can only hear loud noises, but this may improve as her ear infection clears up.
What does Molly’s fosterer have to say about her: Molly is a pleasure to have around and is obedient as long as she can see what you want from her. She was quite subdued at first, due to her arthritis and other problems, but now these are beginning to clear up I am noticing her becoming more animated and lighter on her feet. She is a little overweight and we are working on that at the moment.

Alley – 12 year old female Cross-Breed

Alley was found tied up in an Alley hence her name, she is a 12 year old female Cross-Breed. She was rescued when she was a year old and joined a family with a toddler and young child. She is owned by an army officer and used to go to work with him in his office everyday. She is now left for short periods and is very accommodating.

Alley is an old-fashioned cross breed, possibly a Collie cross Staffie. She has always been around children, but now she is older she tries to keep herself away from too much pulling. However, she love to play fetch. She is in very good health and has been all her life.

Alley is a loving older lady who can’t move with her Army family and so is hoping to find a family which will be her retirement home. She is still full of life and has a dear personality. She is an “off lead” dog and meets dogs well outside enjoying her walks. She has been used to kennelling whilst her owners go on holiday and is adored by the kennel staff. She loves her food. Is neutered, vaccinated and has a lovely soft coat.

Alley would make a good first time dog owners dog. She is ‘no bother!’ and is such a pleasure to have around. She is an older lady, but has plenty of life in her still! Someone is looking for a loving companion and will appreciate her charms and friendship. She hasn’t lived with a cat, but was afraid to go too near a neighbour’s cat. She would fit into a family who would love to enjoy a walk in all weathers, but relax on return. Alley is a treasure.

Tessa – 8 month old female Cross-Breed

Tessa is about 8 months old and is a small to medium sized Cross-Breed. She is small and slightly built. She really is a lovely little dog. She gets on well with all the dogs at our house (5 at present). She comes in when the hens, goats etc. are fed and is no problem. She does chase the cat but only when he runs, at the moment they are both asleep in front of the fire no problem.

She doesn’t bark unless she wants to come in or someone is at the door. At night she loves to cuddle up on your lap or even round your neck. She would make someone a lovely pet. Her downsides are she does get car sick, hopefully she will outgrow this, she loves to get in the car but has been sick every journey she’s been on. She does jump up a bit when she greets you and she’s not great on the lead, so could do with some lead training. She never strays very far on walks and always comes when called.

This poor poor puppy has had at least 6 homes in her very short life. She has been passed from home to home, getting more and more confused and unhappy each time. She was brought from a large Pet Shop when she was tiny. So presumably she was bred on a puppy farm then sold via a dealer to a pet shop. The lady who handed her over to us said the puppy is good with all people and other dogs. The lady who got her as a tiny cute puppy quickly got fed up with her and passed her on to someone else where the same thing happened. Then again. Then again. It is heartbreaking what some dogs go through!

Please only offer Tessa a home if you are 110 per cent committed to giving her a forever, stable, sensible home. Being fostered in Taunton

Kebe – 12 year old male Cross-Breed

Kebe is a 12 year old male Cross-Breed. He was returned to pawz for thought a few weeks ago when his mum died. Kebe is a legend in pawz, he was bumped by a car in pallion around 7 years ago and he was taken to the vets by the dog warden. A couple of days later we collected him from the vets and he went into kennels.

Months passed when he was finally re-homed to a lady who has now passed away. We are looking for an angel to offer to give him a home for the last lap of his life. He is epiletic so he needs a home that can care for him. He seems to enjoy the company of female dogs. He does need a quiet home and some decent walking as he is a little overweight at present.

Eamon and Bridget- 6 week old male and female Cross-Breeds

Eamon, Bridget are 6 week old male and female Cross-Breed puppies. These two pups came into us as an unsold litter. Their mum is a Staffordshire bull terrier cross; father completely unknown!

(Eamon and Bridget)

They are all great with kids, other dogs and they can live with cats. They are all undergoing vaccinations. They must be micro-chipped and neutered when old enough at the new owners’ expense.

Eamon

Each new owner needs to be home most of the day and must be prepared to take the puppies to training classes. Eamon is a lovely dark brindle colour and is an absolute sweetheart. He loves to play but adores cuddles even more!

Bridget

Bridget is a lighter brindle colour who is happy, healthy, playful and cuddly! These two are on foster in Derby, but we re-home across the UK.

*Update 20/03/10*

Eamon and  Bridget are still looking for homes. Their two litter mates have found homes and now it’s their turn. Please get in touch if you can offer them a forever home.

Nipper – 10 year old male Cross-Breed

Nipper is a 10 year old Cross-Breed male. He was brought into us as his owner has a terminal illness and could no longer care for him. He had owned Nipper from a pup and sadly being separated from his owner has affected Nipper, who was very fearful of anyone who approached him. In the short time he has been with us, he has come a long way. He now adores all the staff and even has a couple of kennel pals.

Nipper is very playful and puppy like, he loves his walks and is young at heart. He is okay with other dogs once he knows them but he really needs a home on his own with no other animals. He knows basic commands and is very loyal and loving. Please come and see me as my picture does not do me justice.

Belle – 7 month old female Cross-Breed

Belle is a 7 month old puppy who is a Cross-Breed who is the size of a cocker spaniel. Belle has had a life of suffering and neglect which has made her nervous of dogs and people, yet despite this she shows no aggression and loves to play. Belle really does deserve a kind, loving, forever home. She is a typical puppy who does some chewing and nipping in play although she means no harm. Belle is a really special girl who is exceptionally affectionate and tries so hard to please.

Belle is not yet housetrained although we are working on this training, so she will need someone around most of the time so owner who doesn’t work preferred. She doesn’t want to be left for long hours alone, that is all she has had in her life and we want better for her from now on.

We are looking for an older family with no children and loads of time, patience and experience, who can socialise her with dogs and people and give her sufficient training to bring out the best in this mischievous girl. She is active so will need a lot of exercise. A home with another dog would be ideal. Can you make this lovely pup the Belle of the Ball?
