Babe – 11 year old female Whippet Cross

This lovely older lady is Babe, a Whippet cross of 11 years of age. Babe came into our care last year after the death of her owner, she came as part of a pair with her companion Max but sadly after only days in their foster home, Max passed away in his sleep.

Babe is currently in a foster home in Derbyshire where she is living alongside 6 other dogs with no issues at all.

Babe has had a clean bill of health from the vets and is a happy and active 11 year old, she loves to walk and is great on the lead. She is fully vaccinated, spayed and microchipped.

This beautiful girl is very affectionate and loves nothing more than to sit with you to share a cuddle, she just wants to be everyones best friend.

Babe however does have a couple of negatives that we have to be honest about. She is a barker and sometimes the smallest thing does set her off so she would be better suited to a rural property or a detached home. She also does have some poop accidents in the night, this is thought to be nothing more than her age but it is something that her new family would need to be aware of.

Babe would be suited to either a quiet or active home as she adapts very well and has plenty of life in her and we would consider a home with older children.

This is the gorgeous and handsome Jeeves. Jeeves is around 4 years old, and is a Bedlington Terrier cross Whippet. Jeeves is friendly, affectionate and very happy. He is fine with other dogs, and travels lovely in the car. He walks well on the lead, and loves his walks, and even more so his CUDDLES. Jeeves would love a home to call his own..

Phebe came to us recently from another rescue. They had had problems with Phebe in two foster homes and as they were more generic, felt that Phebe needed to be with sighthound aware people. Phebe is only small around 23inches and is we think saluki cross whippet. Now she has moved into foster with two quiet male sighthounds she has settled well and gives the grumpy one a wide birth so is sensible enough to know who to avoid and who to spend time with.

Phebe is a very timid girl so needs a lovely quiet home with patience and tlc to allow her to warm to you in her own time. We therefore stipulate no children pre-teen because although she gets on with the 5 year old grandchild who visits in the foster home now, she was worried by a 6 year old in the other rescues foster home and nipped his bum when he was running around her.

Phebe has obviously at sometime known a very rough hand and is a little collar shy. If you lunge to grab her to move her she will nip so it’s best to gently call her to you and she comes happily.

Out on walks Phebe is a good girl and does not dance around or lunge when she sees other dogs. We do walk her in a muzzle simply because again the other foster homes said that if dogs ran into her face she had a tendency to try to nip in fear. This however is not something we have seen.

Phebe is spotlessly clean and good to be left. Her ideal home is with either with an older male lurcher or greyhound who are happy to snooze their days away and will not try to push her into play, or as an only dog with a quiet couple who will have plenty of time to settle her in to begin with. She loves nothing more than to spend her evenings cuddled up to you on the sofa.

Phebe travels well and settles easily in the car.

Although Phebe is so quiet and gentle the only time she will get ridiculously over excited is when visitors come. She loves to meet new people and will try to jump up them LITERALLY! If you ask her to sit though she will and will just then offer them her paw. In the beginning it may be best to place her safely in another room to allow them to come in and settle and then let her in to say hello to them.

Phebe is vaccinated, kennel cough vaccinated, treated for parasites microchipped and spayed.

Judy is a Whippet cross, around 18 months old. Being a whippet cross she can be energetic, but is also lovely to walk on the lead. If you don’t let her off – then you will think she’s quite laid back. Judy was re-homed previously but this did not work out and she is back for re-homing. A family that was previously interested is asked to get back in touch if they are still looking. Judy may be suitable to be homed with another dog, however this will only succeed after careful introductions.

Secret – 8 month old female Whippet Cross

Secret is a Whippet cross who is probably around around two years old. She’s adored by the kennel staff who advise she’s good with dogs, kids and cats. Secret is good on the lead and a gentle girl. She’s quiet for her age but that’s the beauty of Sighthounds as they have such lovely, calm temperaments.

Secret – 8 month old female Whippet Cross

Rhea – 10 month old female Whippet Cross

This lovely little girl is Rhea, she is a Whippet cross and is 10 months old. Rhea is currently fostered in Nottinghamshire alongside 2 resident dogs who she gets along fine with. There are also 2 cats in the foster home and Rhea doesn’t bother with them, but she is curious as to why they won’t play with her. She is very energetic and most of the time she just wants to play, she loves going out for a walk and is very fast off lead, although she does return to you when called.

Rhea adores company and if you are ignoring her she almost sings to you, her foster carer says she could be in a dogs choir as she makes some really funny noises! All in all she is a very friendly girl who loves your attention and just likes to be with you. She can be a little eager and excitable at times but she is still only a puppy.

This is the gorgeous Cassie. Cassie is a whippet sized, Saluki cross Whippet girl of around 5 years old. Cassie is gentle, sweet and friendly. Cassie is good with other dogs, and also seems ok with cats, and could live with a dog savy cat.

Cassie walks lovely on the lead, is clean and non destructive in her kennel. Cassie sits, and loves her treats.

Pete -7 year old male Whippet Cross

Pete, along with his Mum Millie, were left at a vets as their owner no longer wanted them both. It would be nice to find Pete a home with his Mum, however they are both now in seperate foster homes and are managing without each other. Pete is an absolute sweetheart, if a little lost at the moment but that is understandable as his while life has changed in the last few days.

He goes to his bed when told and is quite happy either curled up in his bed or on his fosterers knee. Pete is in foster with three other dogs without issue so could be homed with other dogs or as an only dog, he isn’t however cat friendly. Pete is also fine with children. The little chap would just like a home where he can can be loved for the rest of his life.

Pete has settled through the night without a problem, is housetrained and travels well. He is a quiet boy and no trouble at all. Pete does have a grade three heart murmur but doesn’t currently need any medication as he is showing no clinical signs. If he did need medication in the future, the rescue would cover the costs for this if need be.
Pete is now neutered, vaccinated, flead and wormed and microchipped. He has also had a dental. He can be homed both locally and nationally dependent on a succesful homecheck.

Holly – 12 month female Bedlington Terrier cross Whippet

Holly is a medium sized grey/brindle Bedlington cross Whippet who has had a right front leg pinned through an accident. She is a sweet friendly girl and loves other dogs and is good around children. Her leg is being x-rayed next week and hopefully the pin/plate can be removed.

Holly is spayed, vaccinated, micro-chipped and wormed.
