Yorkshire Terrier
Billy – 9 year old male Yorkshire Terrier
Billy, 9 yr old male Yorkshire Terrier. Billy is approx 12″ long from bottom to shoulder, about 9″ high to shoulder, and weighs approx 7kg (last time he was weighed approx 6 months ago, so may be slightly different now). He is approx 9 years old. He has all his pedigree papers. Billy would like a home without other dogs as he does not like to share his owners lap! He is fine with dogs out And about but won’t share his toys or food with any canine chums.
Billy is a small chap so needs gates and fences to come low down to the ground, and a really secure garden. Every time the door opens he will dash out and he is very quick. Care will need to be taken and doors/porches secure. He pulls a little on a lead, but as he is so small this should not be too much of a problem. Billy is neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped. He is in Strood ME12

Alfie – 12 year old male Yorkshire Terrier
Alfie is a small 12 year old Yorkshire Terrier who came into Oldies Club care with Mavis. After careful assessment by their foster carer we have decided that Alfie and Mavis can be rehomed separately. Alfie is in an Oldies Club foster home in Norfolk, waiting for someone to offer him a permanent home.
Introducing Alfie: Alfie has a kind, loving nature and is extremely affectionate towards people.
Settled well at the foster home: Alfie was a little confused for the first week at his foster home but he is now fine. He likes to potter around the house and garden, following you everywhere. He loves a morning and afternoon sleep in the sun or on the back of a chair. At night he likes to sleep in a warm bed or on a chair, but he needs a small light on as his foster carers have found that Alfie is afraid of the dark. He is happy to be brushed and bathed.

Can be left but not suitable for full-time workers: Alfie doesn’t mind being left at home alone for a reasonable period, provided he has a dog for company, and will happily curl up in his bed and sleep until you return. However he wouldn’t be happy to live with full-time workers as he would be very stressed if left for too long.
Likes small dogs: Alfie interacts well with the small dogs at his foster home but he can be worried by large dogs.
Needs a cat-free home: We were told that Alfie and Mavis had lived with cats in the past, but Alfie is allergic to cat-flea bites and so he needs a cat-free home. When he and Mavis saw a cat at their foster home they chased it out of the garden.
Could live with children 10+: Alfie would probably be fine living with older children (10+) but he finds very young children too much and hides away.

Enjoys walks in fine weather: Alfie gets very excited when his lead appears and he enjoys walks in the woods and along the beach. He enjoys walking for up to 30 minutes, once a day, but if he gets tired he sits down and expects you to carry him home. Alfie is not always good at recall as he is a little deaf and tends to take a little time to come back. He doesn’t like to go out in the rain or snow!
Good in the car but needs sickness tablets for long journeys: Alfie is good in the car and settles down, but he is sometimes sick after a long while travelling so will need travel sickness tablets for long journeys.
Likes: Alfie loves to have lots and lots of attention and enjoys sitting on your lap.
Dislikes: Alfie is afraid of the dark. He also gets very worried about things such as loud bangs; he then tends to bark, but with kind words he settles.
Health notes: Alfie is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea-treated. He has a skin condition that flares up occasionally but is easily controlled with anti-inflammatory tablets. Alfie also has cataracts in both eyes and is hard of hearing. He had a blood test which was all clear.

Foster carer’s summary: Foster carer’s summary: “If you could find a place in your heart for this very easy-going little boy and you feel you could offer him a forever home, you would just make his dream come true.”

Woody is a 10 year old male Yorkshire Terrier. Woody is a sweet and very cute Yorkshire Terrier who is a bit deaf and has restricted vision. That said, he doesn’t let things hold him back and he still enjoys walks in the park and pottering in the garden. There are plenty of plus points to Woody – he’s housetrained, good with other dogs, loves to be groomed and fussed over, you can carry him easily and he doesn’t pull on the lead.
Although generally a very low maintenance pet, he has a little bit of Separation Anxiety and can become upset if left alone, but he is getting used to sleeping in his crate overnight (though he’d much rather be snuggled up in bed with you, truth be told!). The perfect home for Woody would be as a companion for an elderly or retired person who is at home for much of the day. He has been 1st vaccinated, chipped, flea and worm treated and neutered.
Woody is being fostered in Colchester, Essex. Home checks and a set donation apply.

Blue is a 5 year old male Yorkshire Terrier who has been neutered and vaccinated. Blue is a complicated little fellow, at only 3 kg he tends to suffer from little dog syndrome. He is good with other dogs, but is a work in progress with cats. The foster carers children are a little nervous of him because he can be a little unpredictable. He is very protective of his foster carer and loves her lots. He has led a privileged life so far and would benefit from learning some doggy manners, he has a tendency to bite without warning. He is a fit active boy with a very playful nature. He is in fostercare in Leicestershire with the Yorkshire Terrier and Toy Breed Rescue and adoption forms can be submitted via: . http://yorkie-rescue.friendhood.net/

Ollie – 17 month old male Yorkshire Terrier
Ollie is a 17 month old male Yorkshire Terrier. He has been neutered and is awaiting his second vaccination. Ollie came into the rescue recently and had been born with a deformed front leg. This has since been removed and Ollie is coping remarkably well without it. He is a lovely dog, good with other dogs and cats as long as they are gentle. Ollie is just learning to play and loves chasing a ball (he hasn’t quite mastered the art of picking it up and playing fetch yet though). Ollie is looking for a home where he has a gentle dog for company or someone who is home all day with lots of love to give. He is great with gentle children but would be scared of boisterous ones. He is in fostercare in Hull with the Yorkshire Terrier and Toy Breed Rescue and adoption forms can be submitted via: . http://yorkie-rescue.friendhood.net/

Benji is a beautiful Yorkshire Terrier aged between 6-8 years old. This sweet natured boy make great lap dog, could that be with you?

Matt – 18 month old male Yorkshire Terrier
Matt is an 18 months Yorkshire Terrier with a huge personality, loads of energy, and tons of character. Only apply if you want your whole life to be dominated and bossed by this incredible little man. Do not underestimate him, he is a proper dog. He is quite vocal, barking to get his own way and to tell you off so a property without close neighbours is best to avoid complaints. Good sense of humour, ear defenders and ability to give loads of walks are all essential.

He would suit living with some big dogs who get a lot of walks in the country. Best life for him would be on a small holding. Matt is exceptionally loyal and affectionate, he is a proper pet, he loves cuddles and follows you around everywhere, he is brilliant off lead and doesn’t pull on lead. He has many incurable faults, you will either completely adore him because of them (like me) or hate him (like so many people in his past) Terrier-mad, experienced enthusiasts only.

Holly is a sweet little girl who sadly came to us as her owner was moving into care and could not take her along with her. She has been spayed and she is fully vaccinated. A very quiet little lady who keeps herself to herself. She would like a nice quiet home alone or with another dog of a similar age.. She would make a wonderful companion for someone on their own as she was before. Holly is affectionate and a true ‘lap dog’. She is currently staying with us in the house with many other dogs of different sizes. Holly is in good health and is not on any medication, however she no longer has any teeth but still enjoys her food both wet and dry!
