Yorkshire Terrier
Arnie – 1 year old male Yorkshire Terrier
Arnie is almost a year old, he is a Yorkshire Terrier and is looking for a new home. Arnie is a complex character, he is not a lap dog, he is just learning to be a dog and will need a very special terrier savvy home. He will need strict owners that understand dogs who wont over indulge him because he has spent the first year of his life either in surgery, or in a crate, due to breaking his front legs. He was understandably spoilt while on crate rest and soon learn’t how to rule the roost.

Interested potential adoptees would be advised to read his thread but those brave enough to adopt him will be rewarded with a very loving little dog once you have gained his trust. Arnie loves his daily walks, this is all new to him and he is responding well to new experiences. He is looking for an experienced owner who will continue the training that he has been getting with his foster carer. He could live with dog savvy older children. He would need another dog to live with and he is as yet untested with cats. Adoption forms can be submitted via: . http://yorkie-rescue.friendhood.net/

Billy – 9 year old male Yorkshire Terrier
Billy, 9 yr old male Yorkshire Terrier. Billy is approx 12″ long from bottom to shoulder, about 9″ high to shoulder, and weighs approx 7kg (last time he was weighed approx 6 months ago, so may be slightly different now). He is approx 9 years old. He has all his pedigree papers. Billy would like a home without other dogs as he does not like to share his owners lap! He is fine with dogs out And about but won’t share his toys or food with any canine chums.
Billy is a small chap so needs gates and fences to come low down to the ground, and a really secure garden. Every time the door opens he will dash out and he is very quick. Care will need to be taken and doors/porches secure. He pulls a little on a lead, but as he is so small this should not be too much of a problem. Billy is neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped. He is in Strood ME12

Whisler – 1 year old male Jack Russell Terrier
Homing Requirements: Whisler needs a terrier home to appreciate what a good terrier he is! He needs to be retained on an extender to ensure he doesn’t get near roads. He needs a secure garden and exit management. Whisler should live with at least one other dog. Whizler may settle with a cat.
His Story: Whisler was found stray. He went into a non-terrier home and came out very scared of human command, obviously the owner didn’t know how to befriend and coerce a terrier. He went into foster with cats but came out having nipped but this dog isn’t the nipping sort! Now fostered with a Terrier and Collie and having a great time. Neutered, vax’d and chipped.
Video: Whisler with Susanna his fosterer in the paddock:
Advert: Whisler is an anti-depressant! He smiles and the world smiles with him. He needs to be understood for the terrier he is and then all will be well. He is housetrained and uses the garden. He is still young and can get a little unnerved, give a little bark and he is reassured with a kind word and trotting over to you for comfort. Would settle better with older children or visiting… needs an agenda centered round his needs at his age. Fostered in Reading.
Whisler is a long legged terrier, with a thick mink brown mane. He is about 18 months old and has looks to die for and a winning smile. He has excellent dog skills and needs to live with at least one other dog as we always home to a dog’s strengths. He could feel a little lost as an only dog. Whisler travels well. He so enjoys his walks and takes it all in like he is watching a circus act…chuckles galore.

This is Hula. Sweet affectionate Jack Russell. Loves her cuddles, is in foster with other dogs but needs to be an only dog as she doesn’t like sharing her human laps with other dogs. She is about 3-4 years old.
Woody – 10 year old male Yorkshire Terrier
Woody is a 10 year old male Yorkshire Terrier. Woody is a sweet and very cute Yorkshire Terrier who is a bit deaf and has restricted vision. That said, he doesn’t let things hold him back and he still enjoys walks in the park and pottering in the garden. There are plenty of plus points to Woody – he’s housetrained, good with other dogs, loves to be groomed and fussed over, you can carry him easily and he doesn’t pull on the lead.
Although generally a very low maintenance pet, he has a little bit of Separation Anxiety and can become upset if left alone, but he is getting used to sleeping in his crate overnight (though he’d much rather be snuggled up in bed with you, truth be told!). The perfect home for Woody would be as a companion for an elderly or retired person who is at home for much of the day. He has been 1st vaccinated, chipped, flea and worm treated and neutered.
Woody is being fostered in Colchester, Essex. Home checks and a set donation apply.

Benji is a beautiful Yorkshire Terrier aged between 6-8 years old. This sweet natured boy make great lap dog, could that be with you?

Bobby – 3 year old male Yorkshire Terrier
Initially, Bobby was very nervous and derived great comfort from another Yorkshire Terrier. As time has passed, he has slowly begun to come out of his shell and is curious, wanting to explore his surroundings. He is almost completely housetrained, has no problem with things like vacuum cleaners and people coming and going. He adores his walks and gets along well with other dogs. He has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has had worm and flea treatments.

His latest update says:
“He is doing so well and loves cuddles more than anything. We took him down to Pets at Home today with Angel to get the high protein high fat food and he travelled fine on mum’s lap curled up with angel and is also fine on the lead – and not as nervous as angel of passers-by surprisingly. They are becoming big pals and play and run around together and have been having tugs of war over the same toy, but it’s all friendly.”
Bobby is on foster in East Sussex and will need someone around for most of the day.

Bea – 3 year old female Yorkshire Terrier
Bea is a 3 year old female Yorkshire Terrier. She is currently being fostered in East Sussex. Her foster carer writes: Bea is all about cuddles and fuss and loves nothing more than being pampered and petted. She is adorable in every way and will make a super companion for somebody. She is friendly with everybody and has shown no signs of aggression.

Bea is a very confident dog who loves her walks, but further training will be needed since she has come from a breeder and has not yet learnt more basic commands such as sit and stay etc. She is however quick to learn so anyone willing to put the time in will be rewarded. She will gladly follow you around the garden and settle down to watch you gardening. She is not a yappy girl, at all, but does bark at the horses and people on bikes as they pass by our house.

She has come on fantastically with her house training and providing she is let out on a regular basis she is clean in the house. She will take herself to the garden if the door is left open for her. Bea sleeps well in her crate at night or she also loves to cuddle up with you in bed, where she will stay still all night until the morning and this is where she would prefer to be!
We have just had her clipped and she was very good standing still the entire time. Having her nails clipped also did not faze her. She is good with other dogs but soon becomes the Queen Bea, so is dominant (not nasty however) and therefore best if she is not homed permanently with other dogs. It is unknown what she would be like with cats or rabbits, but she is fine with my tortoises and takes no notice of them.
