Meet Cecil the 5 year old (approx.) Schnauzer has come into our care as an ex breeding stud dog. Being an ex-breeding boy he has not been used to people and normal home situations and needs gentle love and care to make him comfortable. Cecil would have led an isolated and lonely existence and trusting people will be an ongoing process. He is a lovely boy, so happy and sweet natured. He has changed so much since being placed in a loving foster home and his playful side is really beginning to show.
He is house-trained but has on occasion gone to cock his leg in the house, but will stop once told and go outside like the rest of the dogs. He sleeps in his crate all night and doesn’t seem too nervous of household objects, like the hoover and washing machine. He is happy to be left alone for a few hours and is very happy and waggy when his foster Mum returns. He would not suit a house with young children or a house that is too busy. He would be fine with older calmer children in a quieter house.
He has not yet been brave enough to put a lead on to go for a walk, but this will come in time when he gains more confidence. Cecil needs a loving home where he will be given the time and space to develop further into an even happier more confident dog. He will need lots of praise and patience and in return you will be blessed with the sweetest little fella. He will only be homed in a home with another dog and can live with cats if taught how to.
Cecil is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped, he also had 18 teeth removed when he was neutered, but seems to have fully recovered now. He is currently being fostered in South Wales, but we do rehome all over the UK. Any potential adopters will be expected to visit him in his foster home.
If you are interested in adopting Cecil please read about our re homing process and complete a Pre Adoption form (link below) and one of our adoption coordinators will contact you for a chat https://docs.google.com/
